Noise from 4R rear end after turning engine off - Pig Squeal

New 4R6G, 110 miles. We are new to Toyota and its common nuances. We hear a noise, especially if your standing outside the car just after you turn the engine off or its possible just after you shift into park. It sounds like an animal squealing for about 1 second.

I am aware of the Auto parking break and need to read up on that as I also see a switch inside. My suspicion is that its the parking break being applied.

Would welcome any clarification or enlightenment.....

Yes, it's the parking brake being electronically and automatically applied. I commented in another thread that when I pulled into my garage and it made that sound, a mockingbird in a nearby tree mimicked the sound several times, which was pretty entertaining.

Yea almost all the new toyota parking brakes make that noise

yea its, unfortunately, normal, and double unfortunately, fucking awful sounding.
