I purchased a 1 one up bike rack (2 tray HD setup) and their rak attach and am having issues with the supplied hardware to attach the rak attach to the receiver.

The receiver on the truck looks like it is beefed up considerably as opposed to most normal 2 inch receivers and the proprietary bolts that 1 up uses primarily stemming around the bolts not being long enough.

Anyone else have this issue or have an idea for a fix? I sent them an email today and will report back.

Pictures attached for reference.

I'm just using a longer lock on my 1up that I had on hand. It's one of the wheel locks and I added a few washers to get a good fit on the extra wide 6gen hitch.

We have the same issue with our Mokwheel bike rack.

Also discussed in this thread

I also have a 1-UP but havent yet tried it but assume I'll have the same issue

That thread helped me get my 1 up bike rack to hook up to the hitch by using one of the wheel locks instead of the supplied hitch pin.

I reached out to 1 up regarding the rak attach bolt that they sent me not fitting and they said they don't have an extended bolt for that yet and don't know when they will have it. Kind of a bummer considering I spent close to 600$ on this swing away and have no way of preventing theft. Their recommendation was to
1.) use a threaded bolt all the way through so that the anti wobble mechanism can be used (this provides 0 security. A thief could take off the one bolt and steal the swing away, rack and bikes)
2.) get an extended hitch pin that does have a lock and get an anti wobble device.

I will probably have to go with option 2 and spend more money. I also asked if they could send me an additional wheel lock for the bikes with a matching key and they said sure, if you buy it and blamed it on Toyota.

At close to 1700$ for the whole setup I'm kind of pissed at the level of customer service they are offering.

Curious to know what the anti-wobble is. On my previous truck I inserted the hitch rack then using the supplied allen wrench, tighten it (there is a ball inside the 1up) then inserted the lock through the holes. I understand the lock is not long enough but what else am I missing? thanks

I am referring to the rak attach with the anti wobble mechanism. The threaded portion of this bolt threads in to the anti wobble device that is inside the rak attach. It then continues through the other side of the receiver to attach to the locking mechanism.

The problem is that the bolt is not long enough due to Toyotas thicker receiver to thread in to the anti wobble device and then through the other side to the lock.

I spoke with 1 up and they said that they are working on making a larger bolt so that everything works. Their estimate is 4-6 weeks from now ( May 20th 2025). We'll see if that timeline happens though!!
