First tank fill up today. Hit 350 miles on my first tank in ECO mode. Odometer had 350.1 miles and it took 17.63 gallons for 19.85 mpg all city driving. The truck showed 19.6 MPG. With a 18.1 gallon tank that means I had about 1/2 a gallon left in the tank. The mileage remaining feature said 0 refuel at 325 miles so I went another 25 miles on refuel light. I reset the trip A and mpg setting nd will do this tank on Normal Mode. I filled to the first click, wait 30 seconds and then fill till it click again.

Good info. What was your mix of around-town vs highway driving? And were you being light footted, heavy footed, in between?

Almost all city. Got on a few toll roads to ride my mountain bike at the trails but I would say city driving. was being light footed in Eco mode. In normal mode for this tank will be normal and in sport will be heavy on the next tank.

Here are my mileage figures for my first three fill ups. I think I will average 20.5 with most of my miles coming from stop and go traffic averaging around 25mph. These figures were obtained driving the car as lightly as I could and lots of ECO mode. The tires are also still at 40psi, I will deflate them to 32 tomorrow and hope that my mpg doesn't take a hit. I am happy with 20+mpg since my Sequoia can only average 15 on it's best day. BTW, I stop pumping on the first click so some others may get more range than me.

After 6 trips to the pump and almost 1800 miles, my truck is averaging 20.2mpg. I have a rough stop and go commute so my average speed for the 1800 mils is 29mph. My average range left is 7.7 miles and I average 299 miles to the tank. My average hours of driving per tank is 8.43. Most of my driving is a 32 mile each way commute. My best mpg was 21.7 and worse was 18.39.

This was a mix of city, highway, and traffic. My average in my 3G Tacoma was 15-16mpg. Way better mileage and power in the 4G.

I’m assuming you are using the range guess-o-meter for your range figures? Because the fuel tank is 18.2. And 18.2 gallons times 20.2mpg would give you a total range of 368 miles.

My theory is the guess-o-meter is subtracting 3 gallons (!!) of fuel from its calculations on these trucks. That’s a huge amount of fuel, but in your case the math works out almost perfectly. My other theory is they originally set it up to subtract for 3 liters of fuel (which is reasonable) and didn’t adjust it when they went from liters to gallons.

Somebody run one of these trucks dry and test my theory!

That’s correct, the truck and I are not taking the three gallon into consideration. I will try to stretch a fill another 20 miles which I’m sure it will do. It’s typically not advised to run to low to avoid picking up crud in the tank which we most likely don’t have yet. A range of 300 for me is okay for my daily commute.

I have always heard that you shouldn’t run completely out to avoid crud. I’m assuming these new trucks don’t have a lot of crud yet. But yeah I wouldn’t run my truck to zero to find out haha.

But 3 gallons is a HUGE buffer! I wish there was a way to turn that down to 1 gallon.

I ran my first tank to 350 miles , 25 miles past when it was past 0 miles and said refuel. When I filled up it was a bit less than 2 gallons so about three gallons buffer I think 325-350 is a good refuel range for me.

What gas are you guys running? So far I’m running only premium, turbos and regular don’t usually mix well.

Running the regular as recommended by the manufacturer and no issues what so ever. Averaging around 20.5 to 21.5 in heavy traffic commute where my tank average is 29mph.

I commute 35 miles each way to work five days a week. Below is all my information for my first 7 fill ups. If our can get a decent idea of the range is. I plan to take a tank an extra 20 miles when I can time a trip just right.
