Has anyone removed the spats (air deflectors) in front of the front tires? There are three visible screws and I removed those, but it was still hung up behind the fender trim. The sun set and it got cold so I gave up fiddling with it.

Yes, you have to detach the wheel well liner a bit, maybe up to the height of the tire. Then unclip the plastic trim around the wheel to about the same height. That'll give you access to the hidden bolts.

Now I don't remember exactly which one wasn't accessible, but I think there's one under that plastic trim and there's a metal bracket that bolts on to the top inner corner of the deflector (10mm or 8mm). Really once you unclip that liner and the plastic trim a bit it's pretty clear which bolts have to be removed.
