After 23 years and 270,000 miles my 97 F150 was very sick. I have watched the Rangers sitting at my dealer driving home from work every day. Looking at colors I liked red, silver and saber. In time the dealer had a Saber XLT with 4x4 and off road Package. With 302 package included it was so close to what I wanted. With Wife’s ok I made the 6 mile drive in the F150 with Wife following. Like always the old boy made it and in a couple hours we drove the Saber Ranger home. Love the size and feel. My other car is a 2015 VW GTI Autobahn with Performance Package. It is also a 4 cylinder turbo but a different animal.

Been working on a few mods.

Through work I can swap OE tires on new vehicles for Bridgestone’s if under 500 miles. These are the new Bridgestone Dueller AT Revo 3 tires.

Also picked up a Raptor like grill light. Could get 3 or 4 lights but more is better. Well made, easy install, and great clear light. The amber matches Saber so well. Looks very good.

Added LED side markers during the light bar install. Just Phillips LED’s fro Autozone.

Local dealer is new owner and has many contacts from his rural site.
I think this might be the first Velociraptor Ranger. $64,000. Ouch!

I work for Bridgestone and in our office we always felt this was the best commercial. My Avatar is the main character Mr. Squirrel. Always felt we should have had him in follow up commercials.

Originally purchased matte black tailgate letters but soon after found Eye Catcher letters. The graphite black looked better for the Saber color so ordered a set. Good choice. Well made 3D letters. They instruct one to install two at a time but I cut to single letters and found I was better at focusing on 1 letter for each install. Best letters for the Ranger I have seen.
My Nephew has the dark gray Ford Ranger, so I will mail him the matte black set.

Purchased at Autozone a set of Phillip 6000K LED 194 bulbs for the license plate lights. Worked OK but I knew there was better. Tried Lasfit from Ebay and they are better.

In the picture below which is better? Left or right? Phillips on left, "Lasfit" on right. I also purchased two Amber to try on side markers and red plus two white for third brake light. Will post pictures in later if better.

Bonus items under hood.

Have you found any prizes around the engine?
I find black tape many places. Mainly stuck to wire looms.
I know it is tape used to hold the wire to racks used on the assembly line.
Wonder how hard it would be to collect them once the parts are installed keeping them from ending up in my new truck? Guess I will keep looking.

Dropped of at dealer to get two more items from purchase. Spray on Line-x liner and mud flaps. Window sticker will be coming off.

Break in period done.
Quick truck, but a JB4 would be nice. Pulls hard 40-60.
