I just got my TRD ORP delivered today and the seat memory wasn’t working. The seat would beep whenever I moved it in any direction. Here’s the fix I found on Toyota Nation. Just sharing here in case anyone else has the same issue.

“I have distilled the instructions below … basically, you have to initialize the seat memory feature before you can program it. I guess some dealers do it before handing the car over to the customer, but some dealers evidently do not - go figure!

Here’s the Seat Memory Initialization procedure I found to work:

This procedure is not in the manual, as far as I can see.

To initialize the Driver Seat memory feature, perform the following steps, (starting from outside the vehicle with the driver’s door open):

1. Move the driver’s seat forward to its limit.*
2. Move the driver’s seat to its full height.*
3. Recline the driver’s seat all the way back.*
4. Hold the SET button and press 1.*
5. Move the seat far enough back so you can get back in and sit in it.
6. Adjust the driver’s seat to the desired seat position.
7. Hold the SET button and press 1.
8. Program the key fob, if desired, by following the instructions in the manual.

[*NOTE: Steps 1 thru 4 have to be performed from outside the car with the door open, because the extreme forward and high seat position precludes sitting in it!]”

Thank you for this, I wasn't too messed up about it but I did notice the seat memory wasn't working for me either. Trying this out today.

Thanks for this. Having issues myself. I can seat my seat and the memory will work if I don’t lock the doors. The minute I lock the doors, losses memory.

The following video coincides with instructions by 2222CareBearStare. It's one in a series of videos by Steve Clifford who explains electronic features in new Toyotas. This one is on seat initialization.

How to initialize the memory seat position feature on your new Toyota

We’ll, I have tried every fix to reset memory. No luck. I would consider myself pretty savvy with this kind of issue. I’m going to dealership today to have them look at it. Will update after dealership. I’m hoping to report not operator error.

Update from above. Went to dealer, they did exactly what I did based on video above and it works. It was like you have an issue, go to dealer and they can’t replicate. At least it works now. Felt like an idiot.

Here's another You Tube video explaining how to register key fobs so the seat memory will work when the door is unlocked.

Aww man! I can't wait to try this after work. Mine hasn't been working (except the steering wheel position). I was thinking I was going to have to take it into the dealership. It's been soo annoying trying to get the seat back to just where I like it after the Wifey drives it. She leaves that seat all the way forward and jacked up to Jesus!:ROFLMAO:

Easy fix, I bought the wife the car she wanted. Now I'm not allowed in it and she's not allowed in mine :)

Thanks for this tip!

Totally worked for mine also.

Dealer apparently didn’t do PDI on tire pressures either… I was rolling around on 45psi. I hadn’t figured out how to check the on board monitor when we left the dealership after a long wait. Didn’t check it until a few days ago and 430 miles on Odo.

Rides so much better at 34psi!
