Special Assembly Requirement on 2025 order

I placed an order for a Lariat 2.3 4x4 chrome package a couple days ago and the dealer said it hasnt been scheduled yet but Ford has the order and it is showing a "Special Assembly Requirement" He thought it might be for the 2.3 because they are behind on 2.7 orders and may be running those first in Jan.. Anyone know if this makes sense? The 2.3 is the standard engine.

I’ll say up front that I don’t know. If I had to guess I’d have thought it was something like the spray in bed liner that is done by a third party. But I’m here to ask where you see that yours has a special assembly requirement? I think I just got an email when my order was confirmed but there’s not much substance in that email.

No bedliner at all. I dont have anything yet. The Sales Manager told me that is what he saw in the system. Maybe mine will be hand built!

Some build options are accessories that get installed after the final build assembly. Some of those are done before shipping to the dealer, e.g. spray in bedliner, and some are installed by the dealer.

It could be a build option you picked that is triggering that message in the system, but I'm just guessing here.

Could it be the bed reinforcement bars? I thought I heard Ford was going to start installing those at the factory. I ordered the reinforcement bars two weeks ago from Ford and they still have not arrived at the dealer to install.

I think they redesigned that corner of the bed and anything that shipped Oct forward has the new corners.

I believe last week’s scheduling notes stated they were only scheduling Raptors last week.

Do you have the order print out ?
