There are quite a few posts from people who have unplugged it from multiple different Ford vehicles with not so much as a warning indicator going off. The only result was a loss of My ford pass functions/ remote monitoring and control of starting the vehicle.I’d be surprised if the vehicle even worked without it.

If this is all it effects, I can see a lot of people opting to do so. I would have to agree with you. The only issue will be how to access them without damaging the display screen.If this is all it effects, I can see a lot of people opting to do so. Remote control & monitoring being a "feature" of new cars is not a world we should be encouraging.
