TFL Tow Test with 2.7 Ranger

Earlier this year TFL did a tow test of mid-sized pickups with their ranger having a 2.3 4-cylinder. They just posted a similar test with the 2.7 v6 Ranger, and they share their opinions on the 2.7 ranger vs other mid-sized trucks for towing at the end.

How do you get the gear indicator up.

I saw that yesterday. There are many complaints that he didn't use the same parameters as he did when testing other vehicles. This set up was 5,000 lbs whereas others were 6200.
Still impressed with the performance.

I was happy to finally see the 2.7 in a video where it's actually doing work, but I hear ya about the test not being the same as how they tested mid-sized trucks earlier this year. I'm hoping next year they test the MY 2025 trucks, but do a bit of a better job at testing similarly-equipped trucks across the board. For example, the chevy that won "by the slimmest of margins" had gm's high-output engine pitted against the base ranger engine and who knows about the taco...

Anyway, it was fun to watch the 2.7 doing some work.

You can press either the + or - button on the gear selector while in "Drive"

Why? I pay for the full redline so I'm going to use it.
