So.. I'm wondering.. Where is everyone putting the keys when you get to drive?
My transition from the keys being inserted into the ignition to push button start in 2021 drove me crazy for a bit. I ended up getting a black metal command hook that attached just to the right of the steering column. So, it felt very normal to hang the key ring on there after hitting the start button.
Now, the start button is higher. I have a trailer brake in the spot where I would have put the hook. Just wondering where you all are putting your keys when you jump in for a drive.

I know.. I know... "Your pocket" is going to be the answer, but keeping the keys in pocket isn't really comfortable. The cup holder also isn't convenient if you have drinks in there.

Just curious if anyone has gotten creative with this. I'm still trying to find a comfortable solutions to this.

I just normally throw them in a cup holder or if there is a tray in front of that, there. I don't have my 4Runner just yet, but thats what I do on the current Grand Cherokee.

since i will have a platinum, my phone will be my key :)

but otherwise, i have a carbineer (on a belt loop) with only my 14 4R fob, 23 tundra fob and my 14 4R remote start fob.

no house keys or work keys, just those 3 fobs for the last 15 yrs. (had other various fobs besides the tundra, just using it as an example)

We hear it every day; horns honking because someone accidentally leaned on their fob and pressed the panic button. Once in a campground when I had both my Ram and Jeep fobs in my pocket I set off one of the horns. I pulled out a fob to stop it; wrong fob. Then I had both horns honking. Embarrassing? Well, ya!
Seems like if fobs were manufactured with the panic button in a little depression, many false alarms could be avoided.
My 4Runner is still in transit, but I'm looking forward to ditching the fob and using my phone.

It is possible to disable the Panic Button on the key fob using Carista.

I just leave it in the little cubby next to the steering wheel (don’t have the trailer break). Problem is I always leave it there when i get home. Then I’m panic looking for the key.

Mine go in the cup holder usually or around my gear shifter.

In my purse but specifically In my wallet - in the change zipper part. I never carry cash or change so it’s the perfect spot for it. And if I just grab my wallet for a quick errand I still have my car key.
