Sold on the intake but not so sure about the charge pipes, do they make that much of a difference?

Not considerable on their own but they do make a difference if you're adding an aftermarket FMIC.

Does include a port for WMI as well.👍🇺🇸

Thank you. there isn’t a FMIC out yet, correct. What is the best brand to look out for? I hope Borla comes out with down pipes and a catbak. Random question, S&B or AFE intake?

You’re welcome.

Cobb and several other manufactures have them available. AFE for the intake, is a good choice. I have direct experience with AFE on several different vehicles. S&B not at all.

There are also a few from Australia but they’re overpriced, especially with shipping.

I’m also interested in K & N‘s upcoming Intake as well.👍🇺🇸

So let’s say a COBB FMIC the AFE charge pipes and intercooler would be a nice set up? Plus a ford tune???
Yes without doubt, more than sufficient. This ^ would be an excellent addition. I have similar aspirations.

One additional thing, don’t forget a Catch Can (CC). I’m running a UPR PCV CC. With increased boost from the tune, there will be more blow-by at the rings. With this comes additional fuel/oil dilution, which ultimately creates more fuel oil and water vapor. Without the CC, all this ends up back on the intake valves. Combined with high engine temps this creates carbon deposits on intake valves, robbing the engine of power and cause external damage over a period of time.

All this equates to problematic symptoms and increased maintenance costs. It’s not the complete answer but will help eliminate it.👍🇺🇸

I have the FP tune and COBB intercooler, and I’m more than happy with that combination.
I really want to wait on the S&B CAI, but they keep pushing the release date back. If they don’t bring it to market in December, I can see Santa delivering an AFE CAI to my house!

Have you done any data logging to see if the charge temps recover quicker? I’m interested in the Cobb intercooler. I have the Ford performance tune already and I’m also waiting for S&B CAI.

Have you thought about Borla or Mangaflow CatBak?

I do have the FP tune, just placed an order for the Cobb inter cooler.
I have been thinking about charge pipes but not sure if they do or add power.

Dude, there are very few manufacturers offering exhaust systems for the RR, and neither Borla or Magnaflow currently offer that product. Because of the complexity of the exhaust system (adjustable valving), the exhaust systems that are available cost upwards of $3k. When you consider that even those systems don’t add ANYTHING to the performance of the truck, you end up paying a lot of money for a “different” sound. Personally, I’m only interested in products that make my truck faster and more responsive.

I didn’t do any data logging with the factory IC, so I really don’t have any numbers to compare it to. What I can say, is that the COBB IC is a huge chunk of aluminum, and as long as you have airflow, you’ll have a really hard time driving the temps more than a couple of degrees above ambient. If you’re running hard stoplight to stoplight, as soon as you stop, those temps climb like a rocket, but the good news is, as soon as you take off, they fall almost as fast.
