how's the snow performance of the tires? are these the three peak rated version?

I have the same tires, and they behave just fine in the snow. Most I've had them in was 6" with ice underneath, and it was controlled and "fine". I don't know if they have the three peaks, but I suspect they do because they are the same ones it comes with in Canada.

I keep seeing stuff that says some of the sizes of the hankook are and some sizes aren't, but haven't seen anything that says which is which.

There's two variants, one is an LT265XXR17 and the other is just a 265XXR17. They also come on the 18's, but only without the LT designation.
