I ordered the single row version of the Altiq lightbar and am going to install it tomorrow. They also had amber covers for the single row light bar, so I grabbed a set for $10. Figured I'd rather waste $10 and decide not to use them, then want them later and have to pay additional shipping...
I'm hoping that the roll off that Ford has included in the existing DSP isn't too pronounce after switching out the sub. It'll probably be a good idea to print an adapter ring to use with the new sub on the existing box just to see if it is even worth pursuing a one for one swap out.
I am mostly looking for better coverage on the bottom end and to fill out what is missing, without having to run a separate power cable to the back and such. If the two channels are not enough to drive the 6.75 kicker well enough, I'll probably end up having to get the single channel 500W...
I am not super happy with the built in subwoofer, especially after replacing all the other speakers with aftermarket Kicker speakers. The upgraded 6x9 and 6.25" speakers really filled out the sound in the cabin, but the bottom feels empty with the stock "subwoofer". I don't need booming bass...
Tire Rack is saying 53lb for the 285/70R17. I hope that the AI is wrong, since I just bought 4 of them on Saturday due to the weight. Since I know the wheel weighs 26lb, I guess I need to take one off and weight it to know for sure. Either way, they are dramatically better than the...
Has anyone had XTMs long enough to see how they do MPG wise vs. the OE K03s that Ford uses? I read that the OE K03s are different from the K03s you'd use get from tire rack. They are lighter and narrower.
It's my biggest pet peeve with the truck. All the other lights turn on when I unlock with the key fob, except the bed lights. Since I have a tonneau cover, the overhead bed light doesn't help if I just want to grab something out of the back.
Just did mine. Set my heat gun to 110C and used a plastic razer blade style scraper to get it started. They came off really easily and in one piece. Still need to buff out the outline though.
Do you have any concerns about the plus nuts pulling out? I was thinking of going that route as well, but having an couple of mm thick aluminum strip with two holes drilled in it, to use for each pair of screw holes as a backer under the bed.
