It's great when there's multiple lanes and traffic worth trying to pass. A bit much for my typical commute, though. The way it hangs onto lower gears for so long, once up to speed, gets a little old.

The XLTs have it worse. The side vents don't allow for much low speed/idling convection. Burned my hand after just a couple minutes of idling... I've contemplated adding my own hood vents, maybe putting a scoop over them to keep water from falling in. The scoop would then be open in the back...

Based on the affected vehicles, I am guessing this is specific to the 2.3. didn't say in the article unless I missed it.

How much taller than the cab are those bikes? That can suck a lot more mpg than you would think.

I like home Depot/Lowe's outdoor carpet rug for applications like this. It's thin, cheap, relatively soft, and easy to cut. It's not adhesive backed, but you can use some low strength contact adhesive

Nice, can't wait to add this. Don't know how often it'll see use but might as well. If I had gone with an F150 this was one feature that was going to be a necessity to add.

What year was your 4runner? I had a 2005 and the reality was that it had plenty of pep, but the transmission tune was absolute garbage that tried it's hardest to not let you experience it. Constantly found myself locking out gears for the sake of drivability.

I did a test to see how far off my mpg reading is. First I compared odo distance with what Google maps says it should be. That ended up spot on, which surprised me. Also means I can legitimately use the odo distance for hand calculation. Then I compared hand calculated mpg with what the dash...

I know the MPI system has to route around the leaf springs, but I really wish the dual out the back style was tucked up closer to the bumper.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to raise the back seat by 2" to fit some audio gear? I don't know that you need fiberglass for that, but that's going to be very involved to retain a safe back seat. Do you actually need a back seat or would it be better to remove it for your uses?

About 4200 miles on a 2.7 and I have a code p0330 for knock sensor electrical error. Has anyone else had this happen? Some other forums seem to think these engines like to eat knock sensors due to poor location in the valley. (And apparently no waterproofing...) Now I get to leave my car at...
