Looks good - but how do you snap the plate back on with the anchor holes plugged?
Used that kit too. Also, you have a ton of other holes along both rails to plug plus, the 6MM & 8MM screw holes, plus you'll neeed to shove a tennis ball into the front two corners, plus the 1/4" gap around the...
It absolutely moves! Got into a tight spot yesterday where an A-Hole ran a red and swerved around in front of me in the inersection. I slammed on my breaks just in time but there was another car comming up behind me pretty fast. Put the peddle to the metal and burned a little but didn't get rear...
Did the exact same thing. Both in 6mm & 8mm. Got shorter thread to keep them tucked out of the way. Either works just fine. Still puzzled as to why they used metric. Maybe the beds are made in Canada and shipped to Detroit?
Ditto. I also have the 2.7 and it is an awsome engine. Regarding the tires, since I live in the Southwest Michigan Great Lakes snow belt I will be changing out tires to snow and ice next month. We get our share of both. Otherwise I too would go wider - - and will in the spring. My break in has...
Gary - You were right! Went to Lowes and bought 1"SQ expandable weatherstrip and it worked beautifully! It's comes compressed at about 1/4 or 1/2 on the roll but when it is cut and put into place it expands to 1" forming the perfect seal between the bottom of the Tonneau Cover frame and the side...
No - I have the Keko kit installed and like it very much!. It's that short strip to the right of the Keko comming down from under your tonneau rail. Thats the piece I need to seal the opening at the very top of the tailgate gap. Its the one area the Keko seal does not reach.
By the way - talk...
I'm talking about the piece that is vertical comming down from the rail. Looka about 4 or 5" long and about 1" wide.
For all your help, If I knew how to get ahold of you I would like to take you out for some brew. Wife & I may be comming to your area to tour your wine country.
Thank you very much! and last - where did you find that unique shaped weatherstrip to seal the top sides of the tail gate? I'ts a very short length of rubber with a round hump in the middle?
Gary,
Making progress plugging holes but I am stumped on the oval plugs. They are about 5/8x7/8. Cant find oval plugs anywhere. Could you please reveal your source. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx. Might I make a suggestion. Please have Ford offer a hole plug kit so those of who want to reduce water intrusion from the holes in the bed can order it. It will never water proof, just water intrusion reduced.
Got all options except FX. Did get locking Diff for the winter conditions up here. Don't do off road - though I would like to try it once or twice but not in my truck!
Picked it up on 9/13. Sent to detail and got it back several days ago. 1st 350 mi were great - no glitches. This is what it loopks like just after driving thru downpour. Ceramic coat helps alot!
Gary,
If you dont mind, I cant find oval plugs - what/where is your source. Also, how did you seal the openings in the upper front of the bed. Unfortunatelly Retax is already installed.
Thanx!
Picked my Azure Lariat up on the 13th. Just got it back from detailing (Ceramic) and Retrax Pro tonneau + mat installation. Just shy of 300 miles. So far so good. Still in pre-breakin. Will change oil at 500 Mi then take it for a nice long ride. Looking forward to Michigan winters in this one!
Dito
Dito- same here. About 300+ miles. Dont want to push mine yet either. I did have to punch it once and YES IT MOVES! Great on corners - very little dip. Smoothe and quiet on tollway. Freddie Mercury and Moon never sounded better on 4 wheels. Lariat - Azure. Everything except FX. Just had it...
My Lariat is currently currently at the detail shop getting ceramic exterior and a protective interior - so i cant see if ihave the holes in the bed you are talking about. Regarding the edge seals, do to you happen to have the Amazon URL for them?
