Are you saying that paying 2k over you will still make out? Not even close. I spent under $600 in gas and accommodation. Packed my cooler with food/drinks. Drove from Vegas to Wisconsin and back in 2 days. Crazy? yes ? but doable. Probably cut that cost a bit more if you fly, then drive home.
