I went through this with another OEM (MINI) to try to get the proper silver for the wheels. I ended up taking one of the wheels (without a tire mounted) to AutoZone. I grabbed silver DupliColor spray cans until I found one that was a close match (it turned out to be a Chrysler color). After...
I bought my XLT in November 2024 after considering Jeep Gladiator and Nissan Frontier (I'm retired from GM, so wanted a break from their products). The Ranger wasn't really on my radar until I watched a few YouTube reviews. One of the channels I really like is Texas Truck Channel, who not only...
I tend to agree. In Normal mode with light acceleration, it feels as though the trans skips 2nd gear. I've resorted to using Sport or Tow/Haul modes. In fact, I feel the stock transmission calibration is causing some engine lugging. I'm considering the ProCal tune, but ant to put more miles...
I grew up in a Chevrolet family (my dad was an engineer for GM) and I worked at GM (service and sales) from 1984-2016. In that time, I had a number of company cars (too many to list). After I retired, I ventured through a few MINI Coopers and a Subaru Outback. I wanted a small pickup, so...
Ford issued a service bulletin concerning this issue. It seems you fixed it with these suggestions, but here is the official direction in case someone else is looking for it:
I have a 2023 Camaro with the 2.0L turbo. I drove the SS (which is a beast), but found the performance of the four cylinder more than adequate for my needs and my car is 400 pounds lighter than the SS. Most of that weight savings is in the front end, making my Camaro more fun to toss around...
I retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. I didn't really retire, I REWIRED. That means I'm doing things differently in this new chapter of life. Buying a Ford seemed to be a good step forward.
Thanks, Jeff. That is an excellent point. Added with the other info shared, I'm going to keep the bed liner installed.
Hey @Fix4Dirt ...did you ever think your installation instructions would prove so helpful? :D
All good points. I haven't owned a pickup since our 2001 GMC, so I didn't realize the Ranger bed was aluminum. The next thing you'll tell me is that the powertrain is computer controlled! ?
Your write-up was timely, and more informative than you might realize. Thanks!
Thanks for the good write-up! I'm sure this will be referenced often.
This is a nice unit, but I'm thinking about removing mine. I bought my Ranger about 3 weeks ago (my dealer installs the same bedliner in all of their in-stock trucks, which I tried to negotiate out of the deal). I have...
I agree with John. Go with 16 or 17 inch wheels and tires that are the same diameter as your current ones. I'm a big Nokian fan as well. Had a set of their Encompass AW01 (all weather tire) on a Subaru that were outstanding. I can only imagine how well their snow/winter tires perform.
I just got my Husky Weatherbeater liners yesterday. The driver's mat appears to be deformed in the area that goes under the pedals. It also does not fit well along the door sill. I sent Husky pictures to see how they want to handle this. I'd like to keep them because of the low cost...
