According to NBC, Ford appears closest to an agreement. Apparently they are only striking final assembly/paint at MAP. All other work continues. Everyone else had a full plant stoppage. The UAW also filed complaints to the LRB on GM and Stellanis for not bargaining in good faith, but not Ford.
I think that's with all 149,000 members on strike. That's why they started with 1 plant each. They need to stretch out that strike fund. And yes, it would be taxable. It's income.
There are some questions whether the people laid off at the other plants would be eligible for Unemployment benefits. Ford would certainly fight that. Plus, they are working without a contract right now, so any extra they would receive on a regular layoff from the companies wouldn't happen...
I'm disappointed that I'll be waiting longer, but they deserve a good contract. That being said, I thought Fords offer was decent. Hopefully for all it won't last long.
No, it's a TRD Offroad. It's been making the rounds. Toyota doesn't like all electrics. I think I saw an interview with their CEO where he said they aren't sustainable. They are pushing Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Hybrids. Toyota has a hybrid Tacoma coming out in the Spring. I think they have...
Yet for many of us, when we work a 50 hour week we don't get paid a dime extra. The 32 Hour work week will be coming. There simply aren't as many workers in this country anymore and companies will need to compete for talent. Mexican labor rates are already going up and they don't have...
Funny thing is that 32 hour work weeks are gaining traction around the world, including here in the US.

They may get it. Granted, they won't get everything they want, it's a...
You'd think so, but the more likely scenario is that anyone who isn't mission critical at the moment will be put on a bus to MAP for quick training and start building trucks. We'll see, but I hope mine is built after a new contract is signed. Don't really want a strike truck or a contract...
As someone who’s worked at an automotive supplier, who went on strike, you don’t want that truck. The replacements do the best they can, but they’re just not trained like the regular workers. You’re talking about software developers, middle management, maybe engineers.
Maybe there's a certain number they have to have waiting before they do a production run. Otherwise they can keep making Broncos. I would also like to see how many Raptor retail orders are out there. I know of one, mine!
I'm seeing the same thing. That's why I'm saying not to believe the dealer. They might get that additional allocation later, but from what I've heard Ford will fill retail orders first when they issue more allocations.
If you had a retail order, you would have an email from Ford and also get your VIN when it is scheduled. Sounds like yours is stock, and don't believe the dealer. I was told the dealership I have my stock order with had 5 allocations (big dealership, lots of locations). I was #2 on the list...
I think the short answer to that question is that you can't. It sucks, I know. I have 2 orders in right now. 1 for a stock unit that they swore they had allocation for and 1 retail. Neither has scheduled. If you have a retail order, you should've gotten emails from Ford. You also have to...
I'd pull off anything that you can get done easily after taking delivery. The Spray in Bedliner will delay your delivery. I was told this by multiple dealers. You can get Linex at home same day, Ford will send your truck out to get sprayed.
