oh wow let us know what they say, definitely a bit confusing compared to the post above who talked to them.
And sorry I missed the question, no I havenāt tested full droop. TBH Iām not sure how I would do that but I am planning my first trip with the new setup in a few weeks š
Thanks! I am pretty sure it refers to lift height but agree itās better to check with them, and yea I donāt know if the height of the actual spacers is 1.5ā or not.
And not like Iām a pro or anything but to me the ride feels just as good as before! (Coming from an incredibly stiff suspension...
Yea I thought so too but also was just kinda dudes arguing š
But yea my rudimentary understanding is that the lift you get is the same idea between the two, tophat does change the physical bracket at the top as well but debatable if that has any real benefit.
Ps. Closest post I found on this was: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/any-coilover-top-hat-options-for-rr.21314/ similar-ish conclusion there ie ānot much differenceā
I donāt have an answer for you except to say I ultimately went with the spacer (Rock Krawler not GOAT) and Iām happy with it. The shop I had do the work couldnāt really give me a nuanced explanation of the differences but they thought the result would be very similar either way. ChatGPT said...
GOAT seems great and obviously 1.5ā isnāt same as 2ā/1ā but yea cost, shipping times etc were all un-appealing. Rock Krawler has a good rep (esp in the jeep community) and is made in the good olā USandA
Thank you! Yea with a RR I donāt think itās fair to call anything about it āminimalā š but I def prefer the cleaner look of the sticker delete. Saw it first on this forum of course!
Thanks!
I had it professionally installed so clearly Im no expert, but I *think not* based on:
Pretty certain its not 3" lift as I believe that would make the truck nose-up and I measured and theres still ~1-1.25" rake back-to-front.
Snapped some pics just now and granted all I can see is the...
Very happy with the result, wanted to retain a tiny bit of rake and love the wheels. I realize not everyone's style but I found photos + info on this forum so helpful I wanted to post for any folks down the line looking for inspiration for their own builds. Thanks to all here for info / ideas /...
Sure! Pic is a little cramped but more flat. Again I wanted to leave a little rake (dont like nose-up, will be adding MOLLE panels, stability, etc.). Happy with it! Rock Krawler kit is strut spacer style like GOAT.
I got a 1.5ā front lift installed last week, perfect for me, tiny bit of rake left (havenāt measured). Went with these ones: https://rockkrawler.com/rock-krawler-1-5-leveling-kit-for-ford-ranger-raptor/
Set of 4 Ranger Raptor beadlock capable wheels, without TPMS. They have ~5k miles and are generally in excellent condition. Unfortunately, one has a dime-sized chip, pictured. Asking $400 OBO.
I would tend to agree FWIW. Its super easy to take off the skid plate btw, I've done it in my garage, takes like 5 minutes. And every time Ive taken the truck off-roading it gets crazy dirty under there
OP Iām curious about this, can you provide more specifics of what youāre getting done and how you found a shop to do it? (Not that we live in the same area just not sure where Iād start if I wanted to)
Cheers
Well, unfortunately for me I thinkāand maybe this sounds crazyāthat my front quarter panels are the problem. Just looking at the gaps, e.g. around at the a-pillar and where quarter meets the bumper next to headlight, it's like theyre ~1/8" off. I assume others do not look like this š
It's...
Damn, seems like the QC is pretty crappy here.
In my case I think the hood actually needs to come forward ~1/8", just looking at others' pics.
Can anyone confirm? I think that would require adjusting the brace back at its attachment point, here:
As opposed to these which look to me like they...
Wow I literally took these pictures yesterday to start a similar thread, funny!
appreciate confirmation about the flapping, this has always bothered me and I wondered if it was related to the positioningāI guess not.
Sounds like my hood should align better than the attached pics? As in, most...
