Both dealer, and factory failure! Don't think I have ever seen it before. Yeah checking fluids you can see. How about the diff's? Saw a video of a guy over in Aussie land that had his dif replaced due to low oil. Kind of scary!
Right! Why would a level showing less then half on the stick mean that is the normal level. Did Ford put a dipstick in the 3.0 EB with the wrong dipstick? LoL. Don't think so. My truck was delivered with the level showing less than half. Never in my life have I seen that. To bring it up...
Ugh! Ok appreciate it. I will re check it again! Might be right in the crosshatched area. I don't have it here at my house, but I wish I had my oil extractor handy to pump some out if needed. LoL. I am OCD that way.
Weird! So I went out and bought a qt of 5w-30 and threw in about a 3/4 of a qt. I let it sit for an hr, and now stick reads right on the full dot. Does not make sense that at 7qts your reading is showing half.
I would not worry about depreciation on the RR as someone else pointed out. The RR is not a limited production vehicle, but not massed produced either. I am one of those guys that got $2555 off MSRP, and a very fair trade value. I traded a 23 Tacoma TRD OR with fairly low miles, so my example...
I thought I saw browsing the forum right after I bought my RR that some have come with the low oil not full on the dipstick from factory. Mine is above the low mark, but is a little less then half way to full mark. I am being lazy I know, but what oil does the 3.0 EB come with from factory fill?
Would have walked on that one. Been there done that. I was expecting the same on my deal, but in this current climate I think they were pretty desperate to move metal. Vehicles are pilling up on lots.
Yeah, but if you get a good discount off MSRP for a leftover 24 say $200 below invoice like I did then it's not a huge concern. So you can order a 25 at MSRP with no changes to the model carryover and pay $3000 more?
Yeah trading can be rough in most situations! On my trade of my 23 Taco TRD OR 6 MT I got $34,500 and bought it almost two yrs ago for $40,xxxx all in. Put down $5k, so almost got that money back at least. Saved $2300 in taxes as well.
Ended up striking up a deal this evening for a 2024 Ranger Raptor. Traded my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR in for her. Love it so far. What a difference all the way around. Now I have to figure out where everything is LoL.
Great post! You nailed it on the head! I had a 17 Taco TRD pro that I traded for the 4R. Just hated the auto tranny on it. My 2023 with the 6 mt is a night and day difference in driving experience even though it's still a dog torque wise. I just received an offer for a 2024 RR with the bead...
I am in the same boat! I currently have a 2023 Tacoma TRD OR 6mt in Lunar Rock color, as well as a 2017 4R TRD Pro cement. I am Keeping the 4R though. Have owned a few Rangers over the yrs, but have been a Toyota man for a long time. There a few 2024 RR's near me, and have already reached...
