Took it on a good run, opened it up, etc. No noticeable sound difference.
But man, the power! Musta gained a ton of extra HP! JUST KIDDING!!! Couldn’t resist… ?
Not hard, but not straight forward. Two things that differed for me from the install video:
1. when installing the passenger tubing to the turbo, it’s a tight fit and doesn’t quite align at the turbo. Took some finagling and some cut up hands to get it on.
2. When installing the driver side...
I just ordered mine with the dry extendable. Regardless of filter type selected, it says on back order but ordered anyway as not in a rush. I then immediately received an email from them stating they should ship in 2-3 weeks but hopefully sooner. I thought that was a nice touch.
I tried one of these years ago. It basically is just mimicking someone stepping on the gas pedal harder w/o stepping on it, so gives the illusion of more power.

AHA!! I think you are both correct. I do indeed notice the exact same behavior when not daily driving. Love this forum. Thx for putting the pieces together!
Bummer. Not sure the black would pop like the silver does. Maybe I’ll put on a higher HP just for the fun factor of people doing a double take and wondering… ?
Apologies, one more question. For the FenFab CAI on your site, do you have to use the pre-oiled filters or can the paper ones be substituted? It may be b/c the CAI is an "open air" type setup so the oiled is better? I'm a low-tech mod type of guy, so would probably screw up re-oiling the damn...
Great article! I'm curious why they recommend the S&B as a runner up when it has the same "T" connection as OEM, K&N, and AFe? Is it b/c it's more of a "bubble" design so less restrictive? Still not dedicated like the Fab.
