I too chose the 2.3 after driving both. The 2.3 is proven and been around awhile. I live in southern Utah where the speed limit is 80 and rarely climbing the grades does it need to downshift out of 10th. Zero regrets. From what you're asking the truck to do it will fit perfectly for your needs.
I have a 2024 Lariat with the 2.3 and I prefered it. It's a stallworth engine that's been proven. I've see two videos of the 2.3 racing a 2.7 and the results are close enough not to really matter. Both have about the same tow rating and payload capacity. I didn't buy my truck to race other...
I hope this thread is not indicative to the average advice given. The thoughts on which fuel to use is understood by a few but some of the answers are astonishingly funny!
I just got a 2024 FX4 4X4 lariat and I think it rides like a firm caddy on the highway. I'm glad I got the off road upgrades even if I will hardly use it.
You are correct that your mileage is getting better. Not dramatically but it will. the so called, "don't need no stinking break in" only pertains to the piston, rings and cylinder walls as manufacturing processes and materials have vastly changed over the years.
Crank bearings, cams, piston...
Look under the dash above the brake peddle. I had a multi wire plug just dangling and banging against the steering column. I zip tied it up. I have no idea if and where it plugs into.
I too pondered waiting for the 2.7 but after test driving my now owned 2.3 lariat FX4 I'm glad I didn't wait.
I imagine the 2.7 does feel torquer than the 2.3 but the 2.3 is not lacking in tow rating nor carrying capacity. I watched and read many reviews on the new 2.7 and none of the...
Hello everyone!
I just bought a 2024 Ranger FX4 Lariat! Paid too much like most do $57K but it had almost every option checked! My last truck was a 1993 Dodge D250 cummins turbo diesel (Blowndodge). Loved that bad boy but this truck is amazing. That 2.3 turbo is quite the engine. Thought...
I picked up my White 2024 Lariat FX4 addition with every option checked. I agree on mostly what's been said here. Highway ride is amazing. 80MPH is 2100 rpms taking it easy. That 2.3 turbo is an amazing engine. I'm averaging 22.5 mpgs. I only have 750 miles on the truck. I thought about...
