  1. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

Down on power I’m not sure how it’s going to be quicker then for 25 mavricks. It’s down on power due to a Gas Particulate filter seen on diesels on the exhaust. I’m going to be on team “old” 2.3 is better. I might be the only one but a proven motor with tuning capability is where I’m at. And...
  2. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

the lobo maverick has a different trans, it’s a dct 7 speed from the overseas focus st, yes this 42k maverick is quicker but not all the other 25 basic ones with the 8 speeds. the 25 mustang as far as I know yes is quicker with the 2.3 but then I think about the hpp 2.3 mustang with 330hp.
  3. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

Maybe, Maybe. The 25 mavericks have like 12hp less than the 24s. It’s weird there’s no info on the 2.3 for explorer, bronco and ranger.
  4. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

I’m not sure why this engine “better” as of now there is no updated power numbers provided just speculation. Maybe the “old” 2.3 is better? It’s tunable and is a proven reliable engine.
  5. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

Was there really a problem? 5g Ranger didn’t seem to have many problems, neither the mustang or the explorer or the bronco.
  6. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

Now I’m wondering if 24 rangers have 24 bronco 2.3s? As in the 300hp ones on premium. Hear me out, 5g rangers have 2.3s with the 10r80 with a mechanical fan rated at 270hp on regular that came out in 2019. In 2020 the 10r60 came out in explorers and 2021 in Broncos. I believe 20 was the first...
  7. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

im not 100% convinced its a 25hp bump. The 24 and older Bronco 2.3 rated at 300 hp is rated on premium. I think the Ranger rated at 270hp on regular is closer to 290 or 295hp on premium. There a lot of numbers out there but when you sift though it you still don’t have a super clear answer...
  8. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

Sorry I was referring to US models.
  9. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

watch some YouTube videos, they have the new 2.3 with duel injection. Like I said the ford website is not accurate all the time.
  10. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

I think the 24s will be the sought after year more specifically the Raptor. 25 and up Rangers and many other Fords have a new ECM that’s highly encrypted hence not tunable for the foreseeable future. The new 2.3 has more power and I’m thinking it’s going to have the same power rating as the...
  11. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

Interesting, I wonder if the 24s will be the holy grail of 6g Rangers? Looks like a bunch of 25 models year fords have new ecms that are more encrypted so tuning any 25 models is in question until it’s hacked. I think the f150s you need to swap ecms to have them tunable. So for all the 25...
  12. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

Alright! Thanks for the update. While 93 is fine to use and probably a good safety buffer, I believe 91 is the minimum for the tune. Not sure if 91 is available in your area however.
  13. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

They very well may have, but I’m thinking there would be actual testing on a 24 Ranger and data logging prior to releasing to ford performance. For the 22 tune I’m guessing there was just a copy and paste from a 21 tune but never tested on an actual truck. Well there was testing on an actual...
  14. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

I had bad luck with livernois. I was one of the 1st if not the first to get the 22 Ranger 2.3 tune. It was great and pulled hard. Only issue, I could hear knocking under heavy load. I data logged and sent the file in and they said the tune they sent wasn’t programmed to read knock. Kind of...
  15. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

This is a pickup truck forum, there is discussion, sometimes it gets heated! I’m stepping back like you said and looking over this 2.3 thread. Yes it’s silly. But isn’t there something inside of you that just likes to respond? It’s like we are keyboard warriors defending our internet...
  16. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

This isn’t a Prius forum, nobody is going to care about a mpg hit, it’s going to be small difference or possibly none at all. How often are you WOT? If mpg were really a concern then the v6 is 10.5% less efficient than a 2.3. That’s like 12 bucks a month. It’s negligible.
  17. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

Whoa there cowboy! I mean it’s not a Chevy! The 2.7 is a great motor, the F150 guys love it. I think the 5.0 has a rubber belt too. You might get hate mail if you dis the 5.0. lol If the 2.7 was available in 2wd on the STX I think I would have got it. What sets the Ranger above all...
  18. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

Someone posted on Reddit they got a Lariat for 49215 this year. 580 hp. different states have better rebates than others. I know in IL there’s going be another 4 k rebate for electric cars in January, but who knows if the other rebates will still be available. You like your 50k Lariat fully...
  19. 2.3 Tune now available. 322 hp / 359 tq.

Well it’s the only tune available right now.
