Interesting info on the 5.0 vs the 3.0 - mine has the Ford tune and I only drive about 5K miles a year so 3/36 carries me almost into my 80's. Warranty is another can of worms and I have read dozens of explanations and quotes from various Ford sources and they differ. This thread from a Bronco...
yup got the email with the links, if, big if, I bite will be for the rear section with black chrome and have my installer use high temp black chrome on the tubing from tips to where the resonators were so you see on black....
The important thing you mention is there no update is and almost assuredly won't be an update to the tune (per Ford). Not sure about the tool, but you wouldn't hook that up to the truck even were there an update it would be updated on the Ford Performance site.
Looks good - really good, nothing like a black vehicle when it is at it's peak. Had one black vehicle that was enough. I would have spent that money on performance but to each his own. What really amazed me was the cure time - wow. I found on my Lariat, now have a Raptor, that I could get a...
Stock tips are so dull and don't clean up well. Combine that with the fact that the 12" or so tubing visible after the tips is even worse. You have solved that. I have been thinking of the Borla rear section with the black chrome tips and having the tubing from tips to resonators (removed on...
True, had a good supervisory contact in Ford Performance since I got the tune for my Lariat and recently with all the questions about updates I reached out to him - no updates exist nor are planned. Procal is tied to the truck/VIN once tune is installed, all that can be done after that is...
Love the no decal look. I priced the side marker tint (can't do it myself, don't want to do a full replace) but he wanted $65 and I decided to wait on it.
I had Borla on my '02 Mustang and on my '19 Lariat bought from Ford and dealer installed for $100. I have been following the Borla stuff for the RR and would only consider the rear section (minimal 3-5 HP increase they say) but shipped and installed probably looking at at least $1200. Got the...
I wasn't interested in the whole system which is in two parts, only the rear section which the call the tail pipe section - above post. I am perfectly happy with my sound in Baja mode and am not considering the complete system. Given the price of the rear section and cost to install I'm...
Had a '19 Lariat which I really liked and got a '24 RR, wouldn't go back....love the HP with the tune. '2 non-Raptor Ranger may have improved on the Gen5 but my RR does everything better.
I see lots of reasons to do the install yourself and have an ASE push the last "button" that actually "installs" the tune. In addition to the ridiculous charges by dealers I wanted my own Ford Performance account. I paid $6 to get the tune installed on my '19 Lariat at the oil chance site...
i guess it depends on who you believe....some mgf claim fairly decent increases with a CAI, some claim its the biggest fraud in aftermarket performance.....my mechanic just got my S & B. have the FP Tune, so we'll see. Low mileage, non-off road or dusty conditions so not worried about those that...
Made by Borla - had on my 2019 Lariat. Recommended. Shouldn't sound any different than the sound files that are back in the history on this site....somewhere :)
Still not out. :( my ASE guy that installed my tune contacted them last week trying to order into their shop - watched the install video for the 2.3 and I'm not doing it myself....too old, too big fingers, eyes not the best :)
My mechanic (shop that did the tune as they are ASE and only charged $50) talked to SB last week and they still aren't available. That is what I am waiting for.
Well, deleted mine on order so not out $750 and had the ones on the sides taken off. How many people even know where your avatar comes from...good ole Checkered Demon and S Clay Wilson.....Zap #3 among so many other comix :)
