  1. Kicker keylock no power

Yep! Very similar to what I did above. That’s how you’ve gotta do it. The Keyloc is its own device and needs dedicated power & switched wires & a ground to do it. That’s the blue, black, yellow harness in the SGS kit. The plug & play harness is strictly factory signal by-pass & redirection.
  2. Modular Truck Cap

Damn! It’s a super cool idea……but……it’s kinda fugly from the ass end. Especially on the Tacoma - jellybean-ish. I’d really have to see it on the RR.
  3. Headlight protection

Never had clear headlights yellow or crap out appearance wise just by keeping them waxed & buffed after every wash. Just a good spray detailer wax & soft cloth. Fast & simple. Water beads off, they stay cleaner longer, and never discolor.
  4. Kicker keylock no power

Just a month & 1/2 ago I hooked up the SGS Kicker Keyloc DSP to feed a signal to a RF Punch 300.1 feeding a Hertz 10”. The Keyloc STILL needs a dedicated power source with an in-line 2 amp fuse (it’s in the Kicker literature instructions) and a remote turn on signal wire. It also needs a...
  5. Another sound deadening and Focal speakers upgrade

Ha thanks! Definitely didn’t know what I was doing, but after nearly 27 years in the Plumbers Union in commercial construction I’ve gotten myself mechanically savvy. And I’ve always figured if it can be put together by man than it’s something I should be able to take apart and get back together...
  6. Another sound deadening and Focal speakers upgrade

It’s the only one I pay attention to. Good people with good information & advice in here.
  7. What is your Insurance Coverage & Cost?

2025 RR w/a company construction truck so I only log 7K-ish miles a year on my personal rigs. Which nets a discount. 52 years old and haven’t been cited a ticket since 1997. Ranger resides in Tacoma, WA $969 / 6 mo. via USAA = $161.50/mo. 1M in collision 1M bodily liability 300K property...
  8. Sound deadener inside tailgate?

Here in the PNW we get a lot of rain and I ran the same 2 layer setup in my previous F-150 for roughly 4 years. I never had an issue with the deadener becoming water logged and my truck parks outside. The main step is to keep the deadener off the bottom 1 1/2” of the door skin which also allows...
  9. Sound deadener inside tailgate?

Now with a bunch of the leftover deadener you’ve got me thinking why not toss a couple sheets into the tailgate. Wouldn’t hurt and if it changes it into more a thud when closing then it’ll be worth the effort.
  10. Another sound deadening and Focal speakers upgrade

I literally just did this exact same mod last weekend. The Focal Inside speaker upgrade and 2 layers of Siless deadener to all 4 doors. 1 layer of the foil backed mastic and then a layer of the hybrid 3in1. And YES I rattle a knuckle down the door as I walk by now as well. Wife says I’m an...
  11. Sound deadener inside tailgate?

LITERALLY just did my roof yesterday! Did all 4 doors last weekend. Did the 2 layer method in the doors with a layer of 120mm and then a layer of hybrid 3in1. After all the time & fiddling to get the headliner dropped I went heavy and did 3 layers and added a second layer of the hybrid. Then...
  12. Windows down?

How do you know who we are!!! DM & The Boys just be puttin’ some D’s in some LW’s……..leg wounds and they WILL violate your Prius AGAIN! Oh we found a lot of stuff!
  13. What did you do to your Ranger Raptor Today?

Yeah I was made fully aware of just how tinny the roof was after going through a pressure washer car wash. Sounded like the jets were coming through the roof. That’s why I’m really contemplating tackling the headliner and doing the 2 layer deadener to the roof. I can only imagine it’s well worth...
  14. Why Oil / Filter change intervals matter - visual proof

Similar to you I log low yearly miles due to being in construction with a company truck. Not saying this is what to do this is just what I’ve done for decades. I do a twice a year service - spring & fall about 6 months apart irregardless of mileage. Done & forget about it and it’s cheap & easy...
  15. What did you do to your Ranger Raptor Today?

Finally sound deadened all the doors and added the Ford Focal IS Inside 6x9’s (did the tweeters weeks ago) to the front doors along with open backed dust & water shields. Did the same thing to the back door speakers but opted to just keep the factory B&O’s since the fronts are the true...
  16. What did you do WITH your 6G Ranger today?

Not to hi-jack but I did Borla’s cat back system on my RR in my driveway with the truck up on ramps on a Saturday afternoon. Basic hand tools and didn’t even have to remove the spare tire. Most reputable exhaust kits utilize factory hangers and really are a cake walk if you follow the...
  17. Anyone who only upgraded the center dash speaker?

I personally love the center channel and run the system in surround sound mode. Listen to a lot of metal & industrial so I’m a fan of it being a bit “bright”. I noticed a big difference after doing the cc. Like the last post I also did the Infinity 2-way and find it to be a perfect balance. I...
  18. Thanks

Seems like a good pool of like minded people. I’ve gotten some great ideas, intel, & insight from other members. And also passed along info or experiences that have/haven’t worked for me in my Ranger Raptor sand box. Doesn’t mean anybody has to listen, but figure why not keep passing good &...
  19. So What Engine Oil Are Y'all Running/Planning on Running?

AMSOIL now but have good luck in the past with Pennzoil Platinum. The Pennzoil I used to have to run out and get. The AMSOIL directs ships to me from AMSOIL. That alone is worth the extra couple bucks. And I’ve always got a case of filters on the shelf.
  20. Mud Flaps, yay or nay?

The Ford Performance blend in nicely, mount perfectly, and seem to be doing exactly what they’re supposed to in the first 5K miles on the truck.
