  1. 2025 2.3L Engine Trouble already??

thanks for keeping us in the know. i'm supposed to take delivery of my 2025 2.3 this week sometime so I will look around the wastegate to see if i see any of these clips or anything that doesn't look normal. hopefully yours was just a one off or something. did they say anything about the 2nd...
  2. Head of the EPA says the auto start/stop is going away.

Auto Stop/Start doesn't belong in cars. It just doesn't. Think about this logically for a second. How much is it REALLY helping the environment? We know this isn't for fuel savings and it's just going to long term potentially dmg your engine. Stupid @$$ technology.
  3. 2025 Ranger Scheduling This Week (3/13/25) for Production Weeks 5/5 - 5/26

Truck has shipped and should be delivered next week/weekend. Looks like turn around time for me was less than 3 months for me. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones or production has sped up quite a bit with these 25 model years.
  4. Audible backup distance alert

Oh what did we do before all the technology took over? Lol... A large backup camera just isn't enough these days.
  5. 2024 Ford ranger XLT FX4 2.3L POOR STOPPING DISTANCE.

I noticed the first couple posters have FX4 trims so they have those crappy wagon wheel tires on them. Tires make all the difference in braking performance. I'd bet a regular Ranger with the regular tires stops better than an FX4.
  6. 2025 Color Choices - What did you choose?

Ford made a huge mistake dropping Cactus Gray. Like why? It was a very pretty off color gray and was pretty popular. It got replaced with marsh gray and desert sand which to me are puke colors. I went with Velocity Blue since it stands out and isn't dull like the rest of the color pallete.
  7. 2025 ranger 2.3 hp and torque changes?

There could be some truth in that they don't want to increase levels too much to impede on the 2.7 but I think they just detune the 2.3 in the Ranger so it's more reliable as it is a truck after all. They increase the tune in the Explorer a little and then even more in the Mustang since it's...
  8. 2025 Ranger getting the “New” 2.3L Ecoboost w/ direct port injection

And your V6 has a belt driven oil pump and plastic oil pan/drain bolt... why come into a thread specific about the 2.3 and troll? Who gives a ****. There's reasons why people buy the 2.3 and others the 2.7.
  9. It's True! My 2025 Ranger built 2/26 has the NEW 2.3 with dual injection and new turbo!

I highly doubt they're going to tune the Ranger's 2.3 to be much more than it already is. It would negate the reason for people wanting to opt for the 2.7.
  10. New 2.3 oil filter easier to get at

Looks like there's space there to take off AND replace the filter from the top of the engine bay. I'm tall and skinny so I'm optimistic this may work for me and my lanky arms and smaller hands. We'll see when the truck gets here.
  11. New 2.3 oil filter easier to get at

It's one thing to take it out but can you reach down with a new filter in hand and spin it on? Still might be easier to just go behind the tire.
  12. It's True! My 2025 Ranger built 2/26 has the NEW 2.3 with dual injection and new turbo!

I ordered my 2025 2.3 a month ago so I only assumed I was getting the "same ole same ole" 2.3 but pleasantly surprised that it will come with the newly revised one.
  13. 2025 Ranger Scheduling This Week (3/13/25) for Production Weeks 5/5 - 5/26

Sounds like our trucks will all be built in the same week thereabouts!
  14. 2025 Ranger Scheduling This Week (3/13/25) for Production Weeks 5/5 - 5/26

Well I just got an email with my VIN# and production date of May 5th so that's good.
  15. 2025 Ranger Scheduling This Week (3/13/25) for Production Weeks 5/5 - 5/26

I ordered my Ranger just a couple weeks ago on 2/28. Would that mean that it could be scheduled for production sometime early to mid May?
  16. What sells you on the XLT compared to the Lariat

IMHO the XLT is better because: 1. Way cheaper 2. Better looking wheels 3. Cloth interior 4. Keyed ignition (yes I prefer keys over push button starts) 5. Single zone climate (I never understood dual climate when air is circulating everywhere...) 6. Slightly smaller infotainment 7. Less...
  17. 2025 Ranger 2.3 calls for 5.6 qts of oil

This is weird. I'm looking at the 2024 Ranger manual and it calls for 6 qts for the 2.3. Look at the 2025, and it calls for 5.6. Is this a legitimate change or a misprint? I find it hard to believe that the same engine from last year would change oil capacity. I have a 2025 2.3 on order...
  18. Ordered a 2025 ranger curious about delivery time

I just ordered an XLT 4x4 2.3L on the 28th a couple days ago. Sales guy said he's seen a maximum of about 12 weeks or could be delivered sooner. Not sure on the truth of that but we'll see what happens. I'm excited for this new truck. Coming from a 2022 Camaro LT1 6 speed.
