How does it meet with the tailgate top? Does it butt up to the tape measure that runs along it? Does it fit under? Go over top?
Looking at this picture I am assuming it will go over and cover the tape measure portion.
Thanks!
Brought home a new tool. Too far forward on the trailer for a bit too much tongue weight, but I was more interested in keeping this thing locked down given the 2 hours of slow switchbacks through the mountains and elevation.
Happy with how it did given I intentionally set it up for failure š
I got mine at Akins. Didn't pay anywhere close to the $70k I see being tossed around in this thread. Yikes.
For what it's worth, I'm about to ship a Land Cruiser about 1,100 miles in a dedicated, enclosed trailer for about $1,900. Gets cheaper if you go open. There are definitely options...
Itās not anything of a rush for me. Just more curious what to expect for these OTA updates. Like @RaptorDJD , I donāt know that Iāve ever received one. Not sure if thereās something in the settings to opt in/out or something.
So by "OTA", does that mean it will automatically install the update overnight or something? Does the truck need to be connected to WiFi?
The truck is not with me; it's at a shop right now. I didn't want this thing to install tonight and then something wonky happen while he's working on it...
How does the truck drain? I mean is the drain plug wide open? Or does it piss right onto the truck? Iām trying to figure out how thereās so much oil over the bottom of this thing.
Whatās it take to do the change? I went to one of the Valvoline stay-in-your-truck deals this morning. Incompetence to the max. Frustration for the experience aside, now I have the entire underside of this truck covered in oil and oil drips all over my brand new 50x35 concrete pad I poured.
How?
I had State Farm for probably 20 years, but got keistered a couple times and finally had enough. They used to be fantastic, but then it turned into a penny squeezing game with some flat-out lying with two different agents.
I use a broker today and Auto Owners is where we are at now. Had them...
Iāve been juggling the thought of picking up a Honda CRF300F, so Iāll need to make sure it folds down to transport in the bed. I wasnāt able to get any direct feedback of anyone folding a Softopper and transporting a dirtbike in a Ranger, but lots have on other platforms. Hereās hoping!
Just checked mine - seems like I'm pretty much right where you're at. It felt like it needed to be brought towards the cab a bit more, but I suppose that's just where it's supposed to be.
Funny this should pop up. I ultimately ended up picking up the Ford Performance branded ones, but my one hesitation to getting them is I didn't want the logo. This would have been nice! Oh well, my OEM ones are just fine...
Whatās the gap measurement between? This was gray area for the install, so not sure if mine is in the same spot. Would like to move it forward a little but donāt think it will fold if so.
I didnāt do the Velcro on the tailgate. Extra steps and didnāt want to have the adhesive on there. Itās no biggie. Iāll probably notice it flap up half a dozen times on a high speed 50 mile commute if I head into the office. Iād prefer not dealing with the Velcro over preventing the flap I...
I'm a big fan of mine. Get a fair amount of compliments on it.
To note now that I've had it for a few months and have gone through hot/cold/snow/ice/rain/sun/etc.
Over time, the rear flap has gotten more malleable. This has introduced some flapping at highway speeds in just the last couple...
Certainly a wild color. I hate the phrase āpictures donāt do it justiceā, but it really is way more Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde than can be shown here honestly.
I definitely see the appeal. I always snap my head when I see them overseas. If we didn't have other SUVs, I would seriously consider it - especially if offered in a Raptor trim. Alas, my use case would make it redundant and I get more benefit out of the truck. Ranger would stay unless we...
