I'm really looking forward to indépendant reviews on these. Internet has mixed feelings so far it seems on those tires.
The rivian community has mixed reviews.
I've used all PUP, PP without data though. For now I use M1 AFE 0W30 gets my vote because it runs well winter and summer and carry Ford recommendation. I'll do a UOA in the spring oil change to see engine wear and fuel dilution mainly. Truck has seen 3 oil changes since July 2025.
M1 ESP 0W30...
I read this old thread in BITOG forum :
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/motorcraft-fl2062-vs-fl2062a.333396/
They look quite different...
Like you say, the fitness of the end is tighter and the orings as well.
I note that the cage inside seem more robust on the improved version...
Send it
From my understanding the new / revised version is a way to reduce cost, not improve the product quality.
Does the media appear to be exactly the same?
This is the only reason I would consider switching the KO3s.
What tires are you shortlisting?
I'd like to get some feedbacks in the coming months about the new Pirelli Scorpion XTM. But so far not impressed.
Reviving this thread as I struggled to take a decision for my RR. Live in Canada but near within urban area, so ice is more an issue than snow.
I almost lost the truck on a overpass which was completely frozen. KO3 never gave me great confidence in the wet, it's OK, but on ice it's not designed...
Same behaviour here, cold climate as well, might be when snowing yes.
I noticed it when i stopped driving and waiting 1 min in idle before shutting it down
I have about 4k miles on it
I'm glad someone posted on this, I thought it was because of my spirited driving and the antirust coating...
Is it me or 971 and 973 specs are out now?
Wondering if we can put those new specs in the RR.
I see Petro Canada has updated its lineup both the blend 5w30 and the synthetics 0W30 and 5W30 as I think they are supplying the motorcraft oil for Canadian dealers.
Whatever 0W30 (for my cold winters...) or 5W30 at discount price that is near Ford specs, and I like as well if the oil is Dexos Gen3 rated.
WSS-M2C961-A1 for 5W30
WSS-M2C963-A1 for 0W30
I do 3k miles max, lot of short drives, cold days,...the turbos are cooking the oil.
Pennzoil Plat, Mobil...
Sorry if I sounded rude, english is not my 1st language at all...
Just saying I don't really see how to quickly improve initial feel you seem to try to get to improve confidence in those brakes.
Aftermarket brake pads can improve initial bites, even if not really improving maximum braking...
Some sources are incorrect, Raptor have different rotors like I posted earlier and spazzyfry.
Though it can't be much bigger has 17" wheels must fit. Those are not road performance beasts, that is not their purpose.
Go buy a performance sport suv if you want braking performance on the road...
Regular Ranger has the BRRF-376 / KB3Z-1125-A front rotor which is 311mm, same as the 2.3 and 2.7 Bronco.
Confusing because Ford part number website says Raptor in vehicule fitment, but then it's written "without raptor" in the description.
Ranger Raptor seem to have a 341mm rotor part #...
It's OK but the feel is not so great when new.
Missing some bites in the initial portion of the pedal but it does brake well.
Coming from German sporty cars and suvs it's not comparable but it's adequate.
I might look for an alternative front brake kit but not much around TBH.
The most important thing is to keep pressure in the engine.
Acceleration (gentle the first kms, but normal to medium when engine is hot)
Deceleration, let's the engine decelerate.
I prefer to put in manual to control the rpm and the deceleration part easier.
Under 100 miles, the majority is...
