  1. What's Your Fuel Economy?

Pushing 6k miles on the RR and have done all kinds of driving in varying terrain and climes, driving reasonably 17.5 -19.5 if you keep your foot outta that gas pedal a bit, that’s hard to do. Gas pedal is really fun!!
  2. What are you towing with your 6th Gen Ranger?

Addendum, talking about the Curt Echo, I’ve used it for thousands of miles, works great, no problems, I trusted it!
  3. What are you towing with your 6th Gen Ranger?

Towing with our RR has been really nice, much better than our previous 3 tow vehicles with a similar weight trailer. Previous tow vehicles were’18 Tacoma TRD Off-road, ā€˜21 Jeep Rubicon diesel and a ā€˜23 Bronco Badlands 2.7 Sasquatch. All had good qualities and bad. The RR is much more comfortable...
  4. Should I just throw in the towel?

Sorry to hear of all your trials and tribulations, it’s hard to deal with for so long. We came from a couple of Jeeps, a Tacoma and a 2.7 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch. First jeep was fine, second one a diesel was wonderful when it ran, myriad of electrical issues that left us afraid to take it out...
  5. Michigan Ranger Raptors

    Keweenaw Peninsula!
  6. Any Ranger Raptor owners coming from a Bronco?

Addendum, another thought on the Bronco vs RR, windshields, way more chances of replacing/chips on the Bronco.
  7. Any Ranger Raptor owners coming from a Bronco?

We sold our ā€˜23 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 2.7 on May 2 and picked up the Ranger Raptor a week later. Best description for me, I liked the Bronco, I love the RR. RR has a better ride, longer wheelbase helps. We tow a small travel trailer, about 3500 pounds, and there’s no comparison, RR has built...
  8. VERY BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!

Yes, that’s where I am most times, 18-20 and it’s more than I expected. I’m thinking some of that is due to the more powerful engine with more horsepower and torque. Out on the highway, many hills are climbed in 10th gear with some dropping to 9 or 8, 8th mostly in mountains. Overall I think...
  9. VERY BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!

It’s probably harder to drive at moderate speeds and avoid faster starts off of red lights in most major metro areas. Lots of stuff is working against you, how traffic lights are set up, time of day and amounts of traffic and other things, terrain, etc. I’ll include a picture of my best ever gas...
  10. VERY BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!

We also have a ā€˜23 Maverick hybrid and we don’t use it in the winter, it’s stored indoors with the battery disconnected. Talking about the computer learning during break in, I think, no knowledge or technical skills to back it up, that after reconnecting the battery and driving it around where I...
  11. VERY BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!

Our Raptor in mixed town/2 lane highway driving runs 18-20, with a high of 22. That’s only getting into the gas pedal occasionally. It eats way more gas fighting wind or towing. I had 6 mpg’s driving into a 40 mph wind at 70 mph towing a trailer. My friend who has 5th generation 2.3 was very...
  12. Morons at MotorTrend

The ā€œreportersā€ drive around for a couple of hours on predetermined routes and act like they know everything. Park your butt in the seat and go for cross country trip where you’re driving for 100 hours +, that’ll teach you a whole lot about what your ride is like. Varied roads , weather, road...
  13. Morons at MotorTrend

This kinda reminds me of a YouTube review that I had watched some time ago. which one I don’t know, after spending a lot of time reading and watching almost any Raptor content I could find. The best description I can remember is the location was an older mountain, rounded over, probably in the...
  14. Max towing advice

I’m lucky enough to have kept my 2002 F-250 7.3 liter diesel pickup if I want to haul or tow heavy loads, it’ll tow anything that I’ve ever needed to do in the last 22 years. I’ve got the ZF 6 speed manual transmission and I think I remember that it can tow 6.5 tons. I use the Raptor for running...
  15. Max towing advice

Addendum 2, more thoughts keep crossing my mind. The frontal area and how it’s shaped also have a big impact on towing. I guess it depends on how far you plan on towing, if you’re driving to the mountains or favorite campground and hanging out there for a good amount of time and then heading...
  16. Max towing advice

Addendum, I think our Raptor is 7-800 pounds heavier than the normal Ranger, so the difference in power may not be as much as one might suspect, the 2.7 is in many F-150’s and works well.
  17. Max towing advice

I can tell you about towing with our Raptor, but first go back to last year with our ā€˜23 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch with 4.70 gears and 2.7. We had an ā€˜18 Travelite 22 RK with an Equilzer hitch with bars. Trailer weighed maybe 35-3600 loaded and towed just fine on the hills and steep mountains in...
  18. Cactus Gray Ranger Raptor Delivered!

No rhyme or reason to most of this, ours was manufactured on a Wednesday and Thursday and delivered to our dealer in Wisconsin the following Monday by convoy (truck), that was late April , early May. Maybe close proximity to Michigan Assembly has something to do with it, or just plain luck that...
