I too Tracy grew us with power and performance and still have both in my stable of vehicles. But I guess I'm just a faithful follower of those words from Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead........"a little too much is just enough for me."
I too am impressed with what this V-6 puts to the...
Any of you have a read on Ford Performance releasing their tune for our 2025 V6 2.7L Rangers?
Last I pinged them, Anthony with Ford Performance Info Center indicated "it should come out at the end of the year." Guess what brother, we aren't far from that milestone.
If you are coming up Highway 24 from Colorado Springs, you'll need to go a little further to pass by our house as we are at the top of the hill.....as it should be :)
I did EXPEL here in Colorado Springs and ceramic coated the entire vehicle. My PPF was around $1,200 and I did the ceramic coating myself......and never looked back. Don't forget ceramic coating the wheel wells and inside the wheels.....and everything else!!!!!
My wife and I live at 9,000...
Understanding the business model of my former employer before retiring, I seriously doubt Shelby American is/will be interested in offerings associated with the Ranger family, especially in the form of a Coyote swap or supercharger to replace the dual turbos. Having typed that, it never hurts...
I was just under my truck yesterday to see if the Borla had shifted any. Happy to report that is is solidly in place with no rattles or banging.
Where you will really like the exhaust note is when driving through canyon walls and dividing barricades......and alongside those electric vehicles.
If you experience any barking or popping, it won't be because of the exhaust system. That would be a sign of improper air/fuel mixture and/or timing issues. With today's technology that automatically adjusts for environmental conditions, you will not have that issue.
The Borla's website and...
Thanks Joe,
I just applied for the Early Access Program and will see what will be.
Deb and I our off exploring in the Ranger this morning looking for the ATV trailheads here in Teller County, Colorado as we just acquired a new side-by-side.
Have a great weekend!
Hey Joe,
Not having gone down this path with the FordPass app yet, I'm courious.....what triggers the automatic download? Although I'm signed up for FordPass, I don't recall having to sign up for Early Access....or is that part of FordPass.
I'd appreciate any guidance you can provide as I'm...
I am a fan of Borla and followed them through the 2.7 development. They have a "no drone" goal which they succeeded at. I have heard that Borla is the manufacturer of Ford's dual exhaust for this truck, but don't hold me to that.
Now, as for performance enhansements....that's easy. What...
Just make sure your charger is specifically for lithium batteries. I checked with CTEK to make sure and as always, they responded immediately. They also said that this charger SHOULD NOT be used to charge/tend acid batteries. I've confirmed this also with a Google search.
Just when I thought...
Hey from Colorado,
Has anybody else experience their rear sliding window rattling when open? If so, how did you eliminate it without affecting its operation?
Closed.....no rattle. Open all the way.......rattle city baby!
Hey Kyle, The Borla website has both and are accurate, so there is really nothing to add by me repeating it. I found the Borla exhaust breaks in well and still NO highway drone. I find great pleasure with manual shifting since I can now hear the engine rpm's. That was what I was shooting...
Yup, the Shelby story did happen to me back in 2007. However, I doubled down and put the same deposit at another Ford dealership.....just in case. Once the 2007 Shelby GT was released, that dealership waived the upcharge and allowed me to take delivery in Las Vegas as part of Shelby's Museum...
To be clear, I'll be asking them to comp the installation and of course I'll be paying for the tune. Heck, they will already be there re-programming for the brake booster. But disappointment is when you read Shelby is coming out with a 2007 Shelby GT.....you go to the dealership who says they...
I'm going to wait until Ford comes out with the 2.7L tune later this year. Then when they go to charge me for its installation, we can begin doing the math for 2 recalls and the time I gotta spend for their mistakes.
Not true about "if you drop one".....as I did. Yea, it disappeared into the depths of my engine, but came out the bottom when I sprayed it out days later. Also, the skid plate is a great catch for sockets.....just saying :)
