If nothing goes wrong after the procalwarranty ends then no, nothing wrong.
The problem with it being forever on record as having been tuned is extended warranties.
I made enquiries about it with Ford performance and the performance parts specialist at my dealership after I took delivery of my...
Safer option in my opinion is to just carry your programmer in the truck. It takes maybe 5 - 7 minutes to flash back to stock, so you can flash to factory, run the tank of 87 as needed and refill with 91 or higher later and flash back after all the 87 is out.
All it takes is for someone to...
@Dre' Dawg, great list of stuff! So far I have managed to get several of those take care of and still researching some of those a bit more.
1a- Probably get the ProCal at the first service.
1 - got that taken care of a couple days ago at a Line-X dealer and it came out great.
2 - Will be adding...
Steve, Congratulations on retirement and your new RR. It is a very fun vehicle and great daily driver. I have the same color in the 2025 version.
Here are the things I did so far.
1a. First and foremost have the Procal installed.... gettie up!
1. Came with a factory bed liner but if you...
After talking with all three Ford Warranty departments, Ford New Car, Ford Performance, and Ford Protect Extended Service I will probably skip Procal, and maybe consider for another tune. Procal is automatically flagged and VIN locked in OASIS as soon as it is loaded, no way to prevent or stop...
Good to know, I understood that differently. I wanted to be sure there were no questions on my extended warranty as I plan to keep this one. Of course that was what I said about my 392 Wrangler a couple years ago, as well as its predecessors. It seems my stint on vehicles is about 18-24 months...
No, the 3/36 is just the procalwarranty. You still have your original warranty. We all have already been over and over that. There are tons of threads in it and people called and spoke to ford about it
The ProCal changes your 5 year/60,000 warranty to 3 year/36,000 miles. I added the Ford Premiumcare warranty right away (before the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty expires) so there were no issues trying to add it later with questions about performance mods.
I tried 2 dealers in Maryland that refused installation. Third dealer pushed the button for me (I programmed the procal up to final button push) for $301.95. I kept my mouth shut and my warranty.
My ProCal installed just fine on my 2026 in Colorado. I’d agree that they don't know what they were doing
Makes you wonder about that whole warranty thing… 🤨
Thank you for your input, I'm glad to hear this - I know there are "better tunes" and that Ford would have to prove an aftermarket tune caused a drivetrain failure etc. but I really only care about improving the shifting and keeping my warranty. Truck has plenty of power IMO.
Thanks, man! Picked it up and got a chance to talk to the tech, who has installed a bunch of them. Think I'll open an account, log my procal in and let him do the rest.
You'll need to go in and pick up the kit. Take it home and follow the instructions to download and connect your Procal. And also to create an account and register your tune. There is a code/key in the kit with all the instructions. You'll then have to take it back to the dealer and they will...
No it doesn’t, If and that’s a big If there’s and powertrain issues it’s up to the manufacturer and dealer to prove the aftermarket part/tune was the cause of the failure.
But hey, if you don’t feel comfortable then stick with the ProCal. :)
You Talked me into it..Just purchased mine from Ford Performance &25% off + Dealer install $810 out the door, and did not want to void the warranty…
Does Anyone know what the break in period is .. on the 3.0? Going on 500 miles on the New Raptor, Figured I would break it in first ..before...
I wouldn't say I regret it but I would have went with a goosetune from the start if I could do it over again. The truck does drive better with the FP procal tune but you get used to the extra power and want more. I want to add more mods like downpipes and need a custom tune to take advantage of...
I did the Ford Procal tune a few weeks ago.
Truck had maybe 700 miles at time of install with maybe 30 miles since. I do not drive much since i work from home lol.
Initial thoughts is it shifts alot better.
I really can not tell if it has anymore grunt though honestly. A bit disappointed but...
