I just installed a jb4 on my 2025 2.7 ranger. And am looking for someone who has experience with it. I have a few questions about the settings. And would like someone to take a look at my logs.
Thanks
Alex

Hey ive been running the jb4 in my 25 2.7 for a few months now and id be happy to help as best as i can. As for logs, you can send them directly to burger motorsports and theyre pretty quick about getting back with a reply. What specific questions do you have? Youll have to be patient as i am leaving for a weeks vacation to maine, but your post pushed me to finally make an account haha!!

A short summary on your thoughts about the JB4 as it pertains to the 2.7 would be greatly appreciated.

I like it alot actually, it adds a solid amount of power depending on the map. I run 93 all the time, and mine is setup so that in normal mode the truck is on map 2 and when you switch to sport mode it switches itself over to map 3 and vise versa. Obviously it doesnt change anything with the transmission tuning, but in my experience it doesnt make it seem any worse either. I dont want to overstate it but its kind of night and day vs stock.

Excellent! I like that you can set it up the way that you have with a specific tune for each mode.
The transmission shifting has never been an issue for me so the JB4 makes a lot of sense for those with an extended warranty.
The JB4 seems to be a great alternative to the Ford Performance tune which is for ever linked to the vehicle.

Anything wrong with the procal being linked?

If nothing goes wrong after the procal warranty ends then no, nothing wrong.
The problem with it being forever on record as having been tuned is extended warranties.
I made enquiries about it with Ford performance and the performance parts specialist at my dealership after I took delivery of my truck.
The former said check the warranty fine print. The latter said definitely a no go.
Everyone misreads the procal warranty coverage and wrongly assumes Ford will automatically cover powertrain failures for the duration of the factory powertrain warranty. Not necessarily.

Oh yes understand that. My dealer seems to think as long as they do the warranty work ill be fine. I just have the regular warranty. I do not drive much as it is . 1100 miles in a bit over 5 months .
Plus i do not have a payment on it.
