When new, mine would lurch going from 1st to 2nd after a cold start (at normal idle) and only on the first shift.
Zero shifting issues with the transmission since around 3,000 km.
I like this transmission, a lot.
I have A.S.S. disabled.
I have the Triple A Liners. Compared to Weather Tech they are at least as good if not better.
They are definitely better than the Husky liners.
They're made off shore but the quality and value are what mattered most to me.
While you're at it take a look at the 21 pages of Issues, Repairs, Warranty, TSB, Recalls over at tacoma 4g.
They're absolute piles of shit compared to the Ranger.
The open airbox would provide more power on initial dyno pulls before heat soak comes into play.
What happens to that extra power on a hot day when engine compartment temperatures are high is anyone's guess because those numbers will never be published.
My guess is the published numbers are...

Also painters masking tape is your friend and will save you from damaging the painted surfaces...
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30 in the 2.7. Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 in the 5.0. I've used this oil for many years with excellent results.
I recently stocked up on Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30. This is also a very good oil with an ester base stock and a robust additive package.
