  1. J braces needed for offroading?

From my understanding, they are only recommended if you are putting more than 88lbs above the bed rails to keep the sides of the bed from flexing/bending. If you are not putting weight above the bed rails, you should be fine.
  2. SQUEEKY MIRRORS

Mine squeak when they are dirty. Goes away after a wash.
  3. Can I use the stock lug nuts on new method 703 wheels

I'm not sure what the folks over at Method would say, but if you order methods through discount tire, they make you buy a wheel install kit that includes new lug nuts because OE ones "will not work on aftermarket wheels" (I've been considering these same wheels and noticed this the other day).
  4. If you get the beadlock wheels on the Ranger Raptor from the factory, are they already spaced?

The wheels themselves are +55 offset. There are no spacers from the factory.
  5. Front Runner Slimsport installed

Great video. I'm thinking I will put a roof rack on mine in the future. I'm curious if there is a noticeable increase in wind noise while driving?
  6. not sure if this counts but first 1000k miles

1,000,000 miles in less than a month is good but I think you can do better
  7. 8k Miles, coolant leak, and Now a replacement engine

This is posted in the Raptor section of the forum and under their profile name it says Raptor so......probably the 3.0L V6 that's in the Raptor
  8. 2 Versions of Gear Selector?

I've also driven both (have a raptor but was given an xlt as a loaner while the raptor was in the shop) and they're both fine. The standard shifter in the xlt is definitely more intuitive as it feels more like other shifters. I watched a bunch of reviews of the raptor before I bought it and they...
  9. 2 Versions of Gear Selector?

It shows in the Ford Build & Price tool but the "short flat stubby one" only comes on the raptor, for 2024 at least. Edit: My mistake, the B&P shows it in the Lariat as well in some photos
  10. 4x4 without locking rear differential - how does it work?

Simple answer is in the name. A differential locker 'locks' wheels together in that they are forced to turn at the same rate. So yes, if you are in 4H with the rear locker off, the rear wheels can rotate at different rates such as turning or if are off-roading and manage to lift a wheel (all...
  11. My Ranger Raptor failed to start this morning

Just read your post. It sounds we had different situations. Your engine died and wouldn't restart while mine was running fine but wouldn't restart when I drove it. So far, it doesn't sound like my issue is catastrophic but we will see. I'm also not thrilled they didn't find out why it happened...
  12. My Ranger Raptor failed to start this morning

Talked to the service rep again today and asked what codes were thrown. He said there were fault codes from the PCM, AWD/4x4 module and ABS module. He still wasn't sure what happened but his best guess was that the computers got stuck in some kind of logic loop that it couldn't work out of...
  13. My Ranger Raptor failed to start this morning

UPDATE: The dealership got it in to take a look at it today. They were able to get it starting again after clearing the codes. They do want to keep it for a few more days to test some things and see if they can figure out what caused the issue, which is fine with me as I don't want this to...
  14. WTH is this in the overhead interior

My 2015 F-150 had microphones and motion sensors in this area (could be wrong on that one) that was a part of the vehicles security system. Once locked, if there was motion(?) or sound inside the cab, the alarm would go off. I'm wondering if there is a similar system in these trucks. On the...
  15. My Ranger Raptor failed to start this morning

Dealership hasn't got a chance to look at it yet. I'll update this post when I hear back from them.
  16. My Ranger Raptor failed to start this morning

Searched the forum but didn't see any similar posts. Went to head to work this morning and the truck would not start. It cranks continuously but never fires up. It is a little cold this morning (25F) but it's started in colder temperatures. I have about 4300 miles on it and just completed a...
  17. 2024 XLT truck bedrail cap issue

Here's another thread discussing this https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/2024-ranger-bed-cap-shims.10928/ Buckle up Offroad sells shims, though they are sold out at the moment. They are listed for the RR but I don't think rails are any different then the non raptor.
  18. An annoying quirk

You can just rotate them up by hand and then they are free to lift off the glass. Just be sure to put them back down before starting the truck again. They will to return to the normal spots on their own and if the drivers side is still up, it will contact the hood and slam back down.
  19. LED Matrix Headlights on NA Rangers

This person enabled the Adaptive Front lighting system in Forscan https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/forscan-na-ranger-6th-gen-2024-crowdsourced-spreadsheet.12611/post-197911 More information on the next page of that thread...
