There's a hood seal that goes around the stock air intake to keep this from happening. Keeping a lid off a CAI will do exactly what you're describing. The stock intake is already a CAI. Taking the lid off the filter housing bypasses the concept of a CAI.
Honestly? Because dealers are incompetent and don't care. They'll just tell you something to get off the phone with you.

afaik, all the lights are LEDs and each one draws maybe 50-100 mW. Not sure how many LEDs comprise each light, but the power draw is very small when you open and lose a door.
