Any thoughts on the Thorton chip tune for the 2.3l in the Ranger. I drive my Ranger in sport mode some times and feel I get better acceleration and was wondering about the chip tune.

My 24 xl Ranger also came with carpet and carpet floor mats, it was a nice option.

I purchased a 5 3/4 drop fixed hitch from u-haul, I have not used it yet but it looks correct.

It is good to know you towed 5759 lbs with no problems. I am hoping 6200 lbs will be no problem as well.

Don't be envious your Ranger can tow 2,000 lbs more.

Thank you John and Jim, I went to a local u-haul and purchased a 7,500 lbs tow weight and 750 tongue weight with a 5 3/4 drop solid non adjustable hitch with a 2" heave duty ball. Than I took my Ranger and the hitch to the boat yard and lined it up with the trailer it looked like a good fit.

One more question what drop ( 6 or 8") do you use on your hitch ?

Why do you think the Goodyear wrangler tire are no good?

I thought I would use tow/ haul mode and 4×4 low on the boat ramp to get the best results.

Sounds good, my big concern is a steep and wet boat ramp. I don't need to tow that far.

I have a 24' boat and duel axel trailer that total 6,200 lbs. I have watched videos that showed the Ranger towing 7,500 lbs but I would like to here from 6G members that have used the 2.3L Ranger to tow 7,500 lbs.
