It's all gimmicky anyway which I think we should all know at the end of the day. Change oil under 5000 miles and you'll be fine. Built in oil life sensors shouldn't even exisit. People just need to pay attention to their cars more and take care of their stuff if they want it to last. /endrant
I have this issue just about everytime I have to take the kids with me for some reason (they're around 50lbs each.) I usually will open just 1 door and have them file in on one side and I think when they slide through, they put weight down in that middle seat and it triggers the truck to think...
Ended up with a 5.49% @ 60mo. I paid on it for about 9 months then just a couple months ago, we (wife and I) decided we could just pay the rest of it off. It felt nice paying the truck off with less than 10k miles on it.
Just got an email just now for this marked 5/1. Is the seat gonna collapse from underneath me while I'm driving or what? Lol.
I've got 4 open recalls on my truck now.
make sure it's not wind whistling coming from the gap where the driver's side mirror folds.. I had a super annoying whistling noise above 50mph and couldn't figure it out for a while then discovered it was the wind hitting the edge or corner where that mirror folders in that crack. i filled it...
Got my notification for this on my truck too. Sounds a bit ridiculous and I won't be taking my truck in for this. I skipped the one for the airbag clip recall or whatever that could cut into the side curtain airbag upon deployment. I'll take my chances. Not having them take all those interior...
I've got the same white, dry filter. Looks nice and looks of good quality. It's been on for about 1k miles now. *may* have picked up .5 mpg with it. Not much. Haven't really noticed any other benefits to be honest. Was it worth $80? Don't think so.
Going in from the top of the engine and reaching down is the easiest way on these 2.3 engines. I've done 4 changes on mine already and it's not too bad. Just have to get a shop towel or rag and wipe out the oil "trough" that runs from the filter down to underneath the engine. Don't want it...
my 2025 2.3 reads the same. no load, just casually driving between 60-70mph on a 45 min drive to and from work. It pretty much reads the same temp on the bar as the OP has shown.
I agree the gauges are pretty lame and don't tell a lot. This area could have been significantly improved upon.
never have i turned on the oil temp readout but i did so this morning just to see. i drive between 60-70mph on my commute to work over a 45 min drive not stressing the truck whatsoever. 2025 2.3 MPC engine here. highest it got was maybe a couple marks above the icon itself so def over halfway...
hmm i've had to do that with mine ever since it was new. it came from the factory a little above or right at the min mark. i added a little to it to get it halfway between min and max then after a short while i noticed it went back down to min.
no leaks or wet hoses anywhere that i see. no...
Variations in speed, grades of roads, temp, wind. All this plays a factor. Best tank I ever had last summer in optimal conditions and doing about 330 miles on a tank was 26mpg. Usually avg 24.5 to 25 in summer and winter is avg 22.5 to 24 most times. I don't drive it crazy. On my 41 mile...
My S&B air filter came today and installed it. Curious to see if it picks up a MPG or not. If it makes any better whoosh noises then it will still be worth it. Looks better made than the factory Ford one anyway. Better structured.
The sound is very repeatable. With the truck off in my garage and hood open, I can depress the brake and then very quickly within 3 to 4 seconds run around the door and put my ear to where the brake booster is and the sound is very audible and 1000% coming from there. It's not the wastegate area...
2025 Ranger 2.3 xlt here. Truck has over 8000 miles. Still chirps when im slowing down to a stop then accelerate again after I left off brake. Sounds like a cricket. Hopefully there is an answer to this soon. Very annoying.
