Running on the interstate at speed light traffic light load on the truck I thought this was a bit high. Without numbers it is hard to tell. What temperature is normal? No cargo.

Its the new 2.3, right? A 2025?

I think the gauge just reads odd.

Yep new 2025. I even stopped to let it cool and reset. It went back to there. Nice cool day 60.

It would have been nice if Ford put some increments on those gauges.

At least give us a reference of what half way reads.

I guess if you are right at the top then there's a problem.

I use a Scangauge II for when I'm towing. Has worked on my F350, Bronco Sport, Maverick, and now my Ranger.

Mine does the same with no load just driving to work at that same speed for 20 minutes. Maybe it’s just normal?

That's what I want to believe. And the fact that everyone seems to be in the same boat makes me believe it might be true.

That’s oil temp it tends to read hot especially on longer trips. Coolant temp is probably a good bit lower.

Is that what you get for gauges, just dummy gauges, non-numerical readings on coolant temp, that's lame ford.

My 2.7 does the same thing just not as extreme. What I have noticed is that on the highway when the AC is off the oil tenps get hot as the active grille shutters are closed. As soon as i turn on the AC the grille shutters own and the oil temps drop pretty quickly back to normal. Fords programing for the active grille shutters seems to cause the issue to me.

my 2025 2.3 reads the same. no load, just casually driving between 60-70mph on a 45 min drive to and from work. It pretty much reads the same temp on the bar as the OP has shown.

I agree the gauges are pretty lame and don't tell a lot. This area could have been significantly improved upon.

Reminds me of the good old days when engine temp and oil pressure gauges were just switches that indicated engine was at operating temp and that oil pressure was present.

Ford could do an OTA update on this and save itself a lot of grief from worried owners.
