  1. Towing comparison review test: Colorado 2.7 vs. Tacoma 2.4 vs. Ranger 2.7 Ecoboost

I just moved from Florida to Vermont towing a U-Haul 5x8 trailer loaded to the max, truck bed loaded to the max as well as backseat. I got 20 mpg over the 1600 mile journey. My 2024 Lariat 2.3 L RWD was great and had less gear hunting with the load than the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee it replaced...
  2. Bronco wheels & tires mounted on my STX

Check out Texas tires online for some great deals on tire/rim combos that are take-offs. I got one to replace a standard steel spare for my 2024 Lariat and it was like new for less than what only the tire would cost.
  3. Spare tire

It may be whatever is available on the shelf. My 2024 Lariat 2wd had a 16 inch Spare with a hole in the sidewall. Dealer wouldn’t warrant it so I bought an 18 inch alloy Bronco take-off from Texas tire. It fits great and was only $125.
  4. Slight increase in MPG after 5K service

I have seen some videos where folks were testing mileage on very low mileage Ford products and Ford contacted them that mileage will become better after some higher accrued miles. At around 8k miles my 2024 Lariat rwd with 2.3 engine started reliably giving me 27-28 on long highway trips and...
  5. Installing a different sub in the B&O subwoofer enclosure

I had my sub out with that in mind. It is 51/4 inch diameter and dual voice coil. The coils are in the 4-5 ohm range according to my voltmeter. It looks like a 6 1/2 inch might fit but would require it to mount on top of the enclosure further requiring a short fill piece on the lower edge. While...
  6. Protection For Exterior Plastics?

I use the Turtle Wax ceramic hybrid on everything. My 2024 Lariat is still perfect and my 2019 Wrangler looks like it just came off the showroom floor.
  7. Why does Ford not promote the Ranger more?

We old-timers remember when Ranger was a trim package on the F series trucks and original Bronco! It was then upgraded to vehicle status. Same with the Explorer name being an F series trim package before becoming a Bronco II replacement.
  8. Phone charger

In my old 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited, it would not charge the phone if wireless car play was running. My 2024 Ranger Lariat works fine but does get warm if Wireless Car Play is running. No problem if wireless CarPlay is off.
  9. XLT versus Lariat

The biggest turn off that I see is having to deal with dangling keys as the XLT has no push button start. The one I test drove had an attachment which was constantly hitting my knee. Plus my current fob has several keys attached.
