Noticed immediately a 1-1.5mpg increase after dealer performing 5K mile service. This is the Raptor's second oil change, the first being around 1200 miles.. The only difference is I asked them to use full synthetic versus a blend. Can't explain it, but i won't complain. Maybe the pro cal tune is kicking in? Maybe its more broken in? No clue.

I have seen some videos where folks were testing mileage on very low mileage Ford products and Ford contacted them that mileage will become better after some higher accrued miles. At around 8k miles my 2024 Lariat rwd with 2.3 engine started reliably giving me 27-28 on long highway trips and 25-26 around town.

I went on a 2.5k road trip at 2.5k and got 1.5 mpg better on the way back.

and I think my brakes are better now.

I just got back from a trip driving a couple of rental Honda odyssey vans and my Ranger felt very grippy in comparison

i am not sure why an oil change would make a sudden change, maybe original oil was thicker.

i watched an oil guy video the other day and I thought it was interesting that some oils produced better horsepower and some had better wear protection, and some more all around. But there was no one best oil (of the ones chosen) it depended on your use case.
