Ours was one of the first ones that had the bad brake booster, you can read my thread about it. The dealer had it for 2 weeks, couldn't figure it out, we had a real problem with them so we're a bit more sensitive to more recalls. They told us Ford had no idea what the problem was, then a...
So now in addition to the trailering software, we have an EGR valve that can fail:
NHTSA recall notice, approximately47,804 vehicles were recalled for a defective "exhaust gas recirculation valve," meaning that the cars may lose drive power if the valve stops working. Owners of the Ford...
It was finally recognized as a recall. Software update fixed the problem. 2nd recall was for side air bag issue, now a 3rd recall is in the works also software for trailer control. Not acceptable for a new vehicle! We bought a Ford because it was towable behind a motorhome, otherwise a...
Yesterday I looked at my Ford Pass app on my phone and under Service/Service Schedule, it shows an active safety recall: Loss of brake boost, recall incomplete: Schedule your free recall service with a dealer.
I called and made an appt for next week to get the software download. Ours was...
Great info, thank you!! How many miles are on your truck? I was always told with a new engine to change it at 1,000 miles. Any opinions on that? Our 2024 Ranger is just coming up to 1,000 miles on her.
Mine did not display any error codes. One of the service advisors told me his wifes 2018 edge also had a brake booster go bad with the same symptoms as mine. It took Ford 2 weeks to figure it out, eyes rolling here. Sounds like they now have a recall on all the big trucks for a pin in the...
We canceled the warranty. From what I'm researching, Ford is cheaper than this company, depends on the company evidently. We'll have the money refunded as a credit on the balance of our loan.
Finally got the truck back today. They replaced the brake booster, bled the brakes, reset the abs module, bled the brakes again and we have liftoff. Let's hope it stays fixed!!! Thank you to everyone for your input.
same problem and the dealership can't figure it out, see my post about 2025 ranger brake problem. sometimes it has brakes then other times you have to stand on it to barely get it to stop.
Very true, we got caught not realizing what they were pulling, and being overtired and at 8pm we should have just walked away from the whole deal. Hindsight is 20/20. We never bought extended warranties on our last 2 vehicles (toyotas) and never needed them. My 2007 Highlander had 248,000 on...
wow! Wish Ford would get their act together on these vehicles. Glad you were all covered for everything. Our mistake was 'assuming' they were selling us the Ford warranty, always bites you in the butt! We'll be cancelling the fidelity plan and getting the ford plan as soon as we get our truck...
They are still waiting for the parts, some type of module (advisor couldn't remember which one, sigh) and the brake booster. I totally agree about the brake lines but these new ones are so tech heavy it is nuts!
