  1. 1st trailer hookup, how’s it look?

I would weigh the truck at a 3 pad scale, like a CAT scale, with and without the trailer and see if any of the weight is coming off the front axle. If it does that would no be acceptable to me. A always, your mileage may vary.
  2. What producst are you using to protect soft tonneau cover?

I've never used anything on any roll up tonneau cover. They either last until I change trucks or I change the cover.
  3. 1st trailer hookup, how’s it look?

The strength of the frame is the main reason boats don't use WD hitches, especially on aluminum framed trailers. For the OP's trailer a lightweight WD hitch with sway control would be helpful, with the emphasis on sway control. Which is why I recommended the Andersen WD hitch. I would not use a...
  4. 1st trailer hookup, how’s it look?

Even if you don't want a WDH, getting one with good sway control will work double duty with no suspension mods needed. I would go with an Andersen with that setup.
  5. Where's the 2026 Trailer Brake Control Plug?

It is unacceptable that Ford engineered a vehicle capable of towing 7,500 lbs without providing a plug-and-play solution for a trailer brake controller. While I understand not including the hardware in the base MSRP, it is nonsensical to sell an official Ford controller through parts...
  6. Stupid question - cell phone holder.

For those that need and use a phone holder can you explain why it's needed vs. the main center stack screen?
  7. Very high oil temp on interstate, XLT 2025 2.3 MPC.

I've been towing a 6000lb travel trailer for the past few weeks with my 2025 XLT 2.3. The oil temp stays up near the red. I turned the oil temp gauge off. Never had one before. A transmission temp gauge in that spot would be much more useful. Instead, it's in the off road section for some...
  8. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

Since the torque converter in these transmissions can lock in all gears, including 1st, maybe it's the converter unlocking at start up?
  9. Ranger XLT Payloads

Don't exceed the tire/axle ratings and you will be fine. The yellow door sticker is a suggestion from Ford and is not a legal document. The GVWR sticker is the legal document.
  10. BCM firmware update disables keypad?

Just as an aside, someone mentioned a new battery for the keypad, but it is not replaceable. When the battery dies you need a new keypad.
  11. Recall 26S35: 2025-2026 Ranger 2.3L Engine Assembly Replacement [May 28, 2026]

If Fords wants to put a zero hour new engine in my truck at no cost to me, I'll take it. If it's a remanufactured engine I would probably pass.
  12. Where's the 2026 Trailer Brake Control Plug?

If Ford sells the brake controller over the counter at their parts store, how are they losing money?
  13. 2025 2.3 Start-up CLUNK

I remote start my truck from inside a building nearly 99% of the time, but one of the rare times I start the truck sitting in it I have a clunk. It probably does it with the remote start also, but I never hear it. Out of sight out of mind i guess.
  14. Recall 26S35: 2025-2026 Ranger 2.3L Engine Assembly Replacement [May 28, 2026]

The recall states Engine Assembly Replacement , if that's what you're asking.
  15. Recall 26S35: 2025-2026 Ranger 2.3L Engine Assembly Replacement [May 28, 2026]

Do any members on this site have access to these sources?
  16. Is the Dash Switch Cluster available anywhere in the USA?

If anyone has the Pirate Camp Dash Switch Cluster available to sell, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  17. Ranger Aux Switch Kit M-9100-RA

In the F-Series trucks this would be called upfitter switches and the last two spots were 40 amp with the option of being always on, configured by a switch in the upfitter fuse box. That option doesn't seem like it's available on this Ranger version, just the 25 amp switches. It does look like...
  18. Just for Fun: If You Were the Ranger Designer, What Would You Change?

I usually have a passenger in the back seat and they sit behind the front passenger, in the single seat. There is more legroom behind that front passenger, my seat is nearly all the way back. So, that portion of the rear seat is the 60% percent side and I keep many things either under or behind...
