Hereās the two most current TSBās addressing the issues. Also you can check out 10R80 related content on this YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@FlyingWrenches13?si=AgVH2btDg7AE4VM0
The 10R80 main issue was the CDF drum. The CDF drum was updated in 08/22. The 10R60 also had the same issue but now also has the updated drum. There still may be some issues with valve bodyās sticking on both. There is a TSB that addresses both the CDF drum and valve body issues for both...
Iām also hoping for a PHEV Ranger ( we also have an Escape PHEV). My gut tells me that not having a US sourced battery that meets the tax credit criteria is part of the reason for not seeing a US version yet.
Even if you special order a XL,XLT or Lariat they will most likely show up on the dealers website long before the even ship. Itās a Ford thing thatās out of the dealerās control and was confirmed by my dealer when I special ordered my 22 Tremor.
Iām still convinced the delay to the US is because of battery sourcing/tax credits. Also anxiously waiting to see what happens with it for the US market.
Thereās a butt load of Jeep 4XE PHEVās out there with no reported water fording issues. Our off road club has at least 2 members with them and I have seen them in some pretty sketchy water situations multiple times with zero problems. Iām sure that the engineers are fully aware of what their...
And now valve spring problems with the 3.0L EcoBoosts in the Ranger Raptors. SSM 51979 issued October 11, 2023. Wondering if this will affect the US built Raptors seeing all the 3.0L EcoBoosts are built in the same plant...
Everything I see while searching the web says all the 3.0L V6 Ecoboosts are built in the US. If so then technically itās a US build problem already. And if true how many of the undelivered Ranger Raptors may potentially have this problem? If anyone knows of the 3.0 Ecoboost being built anywhere...
Maybe it has to do with Ford not having a US sourced battery that meets the US tax credit criteria yet. So maybe a couple years down the road ? Also newer battery technology may exist by then and extend the range.
Itās looking like it can be used either way in 2024. Hereās whatās currently published about it.
āConsumers that purchase a qualifying electric vehicle can continue to claim the electric vehicle tax credit on their annual tax filing. Starting in 2024, the Inflation Reduction Act establishes a...
Starting in 2024 the credit will be applied at the time of purchase so long before weāll see the PHEV. And by then hopefully Ford will have their battery/material sourcing straightened out and it will qualify for the full $7500 credit at time of purchase.
Speaking of demand, Ford received 3-4 times more orders than what they could build for the 23 Escape PHEV. And that was before they shut down taking orders. I imagine the same thing will happen if a 6G Ranger PHEV is offered.
It all comes down to driving habits. For us our Escape PHEV is a great fit. Weāve put 1000 miles on it in the last two months and used zero gas. We charge overnight on 120v when the car just sits anyway. So far the cost of electricity is under .05 cents per mile to drive. If we have a long trip...
With a PHEV you drive on electric until it switches to ICE. A PHEV will charge on 120v which just about every house in rural America has. I think your comments are meant to be directed to EVās ?
