Unfortunately, the high positive offset of the RRaptor really limits the available wheel options - specifically, anything from the toyota side will have way more poke than stock.
I got the non-beadlock wheels specifically because I wanted to go aftermarket, but I might wait a while and see if...
Are there any data points on which trucks that got shipped, and what production week they were? I'm wondering if its FIFO, LIFO, or something else entirely
Were you able to confirm from Ford that it was purely for marketing/media events and not related to the vehicles needing something or failing some kind of QC inspection?
Same and Same - got mine through a tiny dealer in WA that didn't wanna throw ADM at me and allowed me to have their stock allocation. My truck shows built but still hasn't been released for sale.
To their defense, the only thing Ford Corporate has been consistent with is their inconsistency with how they release allocations for new, in demand models. They bungled the release of pretty much every new model - Bronco, Lightning, Maverick, etc. Why would you be surprised that they would do...
2023 Ranger Production has ended but I believe MAP is still trying to get the remaining scheduled 2023 Broncos off the line.
As a data point, prior to the strike my build date was October 16 and I'm currently looking at January 15.
I don't know a lot about organized striking but I wonder if it's even possible to rotate out the strike to other locations. let the MAP folks get back to work so they can actually pay their mortgages/feed their families this month and shutter a different factory for a while.
If I take off my Labor hat for a moment and focus purely on getting my truck, it feels like we got dealt a pretty shitty hand. The strike happening firstly at the MAP Ranger/Bronco plant literally as soon as the new 6G rangers were about to hit the line is incredibly unfortunate for the people...
beyond the "1 per dealer" initial allocation Ford has been tight lipped about the status of "additional future allocations."
It could be overall volume, it could be previous ranger sales volume, who knows.
I'm not sure what the benefit of this is.
Is it for having a boat switch to not run down your chassis battery with accessories? What are y'all trying to power that exceeds the in-bed 400W plug?
I guess that explains the relative dearth of fitment information out there for the current gen RRaptor. I just don't think I want the headache of trying to cram 35's in there, but also can't leave stock wheels well enough alone.
Lots of wheels currently for sale are offered in a much more extreme negative offset than the factory +55. Obviously at 35" tires you're going to have a host of issues but does anyone think something like a -10 Offset in an 8 or 8.5" wheel would present any fitment issues for the stock size...
It's still unfortunate that the stock hubs have such a crazy high offset. If Ford could get it closer to a neutral offset like the Tacoma that would unlock so many additional wheel options.
I really wish SCS and a few other companies had something that would fit the rangers. I'm not going to...
I need to get some kind of bed cover, I just need to decide if I want a Bakflip style tonneau, a softtopper, or to wait and get some sort of big truss system. Too many options!
watching that video and seeing just how much stuff has to be uninstalled to get at the bottom of the holes.... ugh come on ford why couldn't you just tap them?
I feel like BFG have had their lunch taken over their relatively awful wet performance for years now. If they couldn't figure out a way to address it after this much development time I don't understand what their engineers do all day.
