The track on the latest generation is wider and the wheelbase is longer. How were those changes accomplished and does that affect how suspension parts are designed and mounted to the frame? I'm also sure there other improvements to the design as well so I would be highly skeptical that you could...
For those who have worked at dealership service departments, who typically does dealer prep on new vehicles? Is it an experienced tech or, as I suspect, newbies that can't be trusted with "real" service work? When I took delivery of my '23 F-150 Tremor there were numerous items that were missed...
Ford doesn't have the manufacturing capacity to compete with the Tacoma and I seriously doubt they want to anyway. They would much rather sell you an F-150. It's the same old story.
Here's my collection of various Fords. They're spread out over two buildings: a 3 car attached garage and a separate 40x50 shop building. All of them are licensed except for the '67 ranchero which is still a work in progress.
Right or wrong, it will be more of a lasting black eye for Ford than it will be for the UAW. If you are someone who has waited nearly a year to get your truck can you honestly say that you won't consider another brand next time?
I realize this might not be a popular opinion here but I'm going to buck the trend. I used to own mid-size Ford trucks for years (3 Rangers and a Sport Trac) but in 2018 I went to an F-150 mainly because my '07 Sport Trac had 164k miles on the clock and I was not impressed with the 2019 Ranger...
I bought my new '23 F-150 Tremor off a dealer's lot and it had been ordered with the 18 speaker B&O Unleashed system. It sounds okay to me in surround sound mode but I am by no means a music aficionado. I think I read somewhere that Ford moved the location of the subwoofer on the F-series trucks...
I've had the Ford branded version for almost five years and have used it on two different F-150s. The only problem has been that the glued on "FORD" emblem fell off within the first year. Other than that it has held up better than any other tonneau cover I've ever had, is easy to use and takes...
My thoughts exactly. I've been enjoying this one since July. I was #1 on the RR allocation list at Spitzer Ford of DuBois, PA prior to that but I assume they have already filled that slot.
When I bought my 2002 Ranger FX4 there was a recall for the Torsen rear diff a couple of months after I took delivery. One of the forum members on offroadrangers.com broke his and it was discovered that the manufacturer Ford bought the parts from had not properly heat treated some of the parts...
I changed my preference from the Ranger Raptor to the F-150 Tremor. I want an off-road capable truck that can still haul and tow reasonable amounts. When Ford dropped the Ranger Tremor package for 2024 that pushed the needle even farther in the F-150's favor for me.
Anyway, on the 2023 F-150...
I sat in the Ranger Raptor Ford had on display at Carlisle a few weeks ago. Very impressive. However, since whatever truck I buy needs to be able to do actual truck things like tow my 18 ft enclosed trailer with a car inside, I decided the Raptor was probably not going to be the best choice...
I talked to one of the salesmen at a local dealer this morning. I have been on their list for a Ranger Raptor for nearly a year now. What he told me was a bit surprising and may have been a ploy to get me to place an order. If I do that I will demand they put the deal in writing and honor it...
Those are some valid points and probably a lot of truth in there. However, on some other forums there are members who actually work in that plant (MAP) and they say the biggest issue right now is parts availability.
MAP could add a third shift to meet demand for the Ranger but they cannot get...
