I agree with you. I hate that the push button start is not available on XLT but I guess I can live without it. Its really silly as you can get the high package with a 12 inch screen with all the technology included.
The last thing I am contemplating before pulling the trigger is the 2.3...
I agree with most of what you said. There are many factors at play and much to consider. I know my Dad's approach to buying vehicles was always on a whim. My mom once sent him out to pick up groceries and he came home with a new car ha ha.... :)
Pretty good reviews it seems across the board. Only remaining question I have is 2.3 liter 4 cylinder vs 2.7 liter V6. Perhaps once my dealer has a few on the lot, it would be good to take a test drive.
I don't disagree that is sounds ridiculous. However, I have been around too many corporate suits which makes me believe they would think that they can convert High End Ranger buyers to Lower End F150 owners. Of course I don't know if Ford is capable of this :)
I think there are 3 things at play. 1) Quality - probably allowing extra time for quality checks 2) Media events and driving reviews in March 3) Ford has a lot of inventory sitting on dealer lots right now so time to make room.
I am looking at ordering an XLT (without the B/O) just the standard Sirius XM. Hopefully that is adequate enough but if not, maybe there are good aftermarket alternatives like an amp, new speakers, and small hideway sub..
This is great news. For months all I have gotten information from Australian reviews or reviews of older model Rangers. Toyota definitely stepped up efforts to get the media involved early.
This is probably for the best. Places like Google or Apple are really good at creating user interfaces and designing a computer ecosystem. This is really not Ford or GMs main competency and they are better off doing what they do well which is design and build automobiles.
Agree. I like the value of the XLT but no push button is a really silly 'feature' to hold back. Basically I can have up to a 12 inch touch screen but no push button start.
