Interestingly enough, I didn't order them and didn't want them. Wasn't on my order sheet. But when I saw my window sticker online for the first time they were there. I thought about having them removed but just went with it and I'm glad I did. When I saw it for the first time I thought they...
Thanks for that! I rechecked and you are correct, so I'll have to find a different slot. Checked all fuses with a multimeter to verify your findings and came up with the same results you did. I'm also wondering how accurate the owners guide is on the labeling. It's weird to me that all of...
No, actually the swivel screw for the dash cam is covered by the radar mount. So to adjust the dash you have to remove the radar detector mount. It's a lot of work. But I centered it by eyeball and it was pretty much perfect. Tightened everything up and it doesn't budge, which could be good...
I used fuse #3 (wireless charger) for acc and fuse #28 (spare/unused) for constant - both micro2.
Also used modified Blendmounts to mount both radar detector and dash cam on one mirror mount clamp. Mirror tap to power the radar detector.
Other thread discussion here: Ranger 6G - Mirror tap...
Very stout. If you tighten all the hardware, it's not budging, no added noise or rattling. Dash cam probably weighs less than the radar detector, the size is deceiving.
A/C refrigerant leaked out of the expansion valve. Dealer missed it at PDI. Still waiting on a replacement expansion valve as the seal replacement just leaked it out. Going on day 20 without A/C but luckily the weather has been pleasant. The drive and vacation in Texas, however, was not lol...
Dash cam and radar detector mounted
Ran the wiring last night and used fuse taps into the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box under the steering wheel. Fuse sizes are micro2 and micro3, I used micro2 - specifically the wireless charger (fuse spot #3) (need to find different fuse location...
I doubt that as well. Cars that I know of that have TPMS in the spare you just rotate and after a few minutes the signal is switched and pressure shows up with the new wheel. Has to be in range. Other older vehicles I think require a manual reset. Not sure how the Ranger's work.
Should be same day. Also keep in mind the long amount of time for orders to be filled were due to the strike which has been resolved. Things should pick up so I highly doubt you'll wait 8-9 months let alone the 11+ months most of us have endured.
*Disclaimer - but with Ford, you never know lol.
Anyone know if the spare has a TPMS in it? Knowing Ford cost savings practices for NA, I would guess not and I suppose being only a spare it makes sense not to have one. But being the same KO3 tire you could run it indefinitely. I'm looking into replacing the stock spare wheel with a factory...
Hardware for the Blendmount's is #6-32 hex socket head cap screws. I picked up a few various lengths but really only needed to account for the added thickness of the radar detector mount bracket.
I'll mount it later and get pics but it should work nicely. The only drawback being adjustments...
Really, really love that one but $700 for shipping = yikes lol. Looking at $3900 total. Wish this could be configured to use an aux switch to operate instead of key fob or mobile app. Love the design and lighting though.
