FWIW first time I 'properly' drove a bronco on the sand dunes here I got a check engine light because the sway bar system got stuck... Limp mode out the sand was not fun either..
Would be a sad day if I face the same experience in my Ranger Raptor..
On the other hand, I sold the 4Runner (with...
It is normal for any transmission to warm up while off-roading. It gets worse with bigger tires and modded (heavier) trucks of course.
General tips I learned so far:
1- keep the front main radiator & trans cooler clean from dirt/ bug/ grime buildup.
2- Keep underbody clean (any hot metal areas...
About the coils, he was in Australia at the time so he took them back with him in the luggage.
At only 140kg it is too low for you to experience bottom out issues. My truck has 194kg fixed weight in the back (bed slide, tent, crossbars /brackets, and 180 awning), + another 50kg extra for the...
The Ranger Raptor (coil spring rear) will sag more than the normal ranger due to its soft rear spring.
I'd say try it out first before deciding on a rear coil swap
Nice setup
Any pics inside with the canopy tent/ roof opened up? Or the tent is separate from the canopy?
Also, you need rear coils as what you are describing as 'reverberate/bounce after the back wheels have passed the bump' is basically the effects of bottoming out due to the added weight...
Curious on your driving impressions later on and the specs as well. Specifically load rating increase vs the stock rear coils. Any idea if they will be linear or progressive?
A few points from our experience:
1- The Alucab canopy is good, but keep in mind the bed area is dust proof. You need to seal up the tailgate and check where else the dust comes inside the bed in to minimize dust.
2- The Ranger Raptor rear coils are very soft and will sag with weight. The stock...
This is just a sour greedy move from Ford.
I’ve been trying for a year to get the J-braces from our country dealer. Nobody has a clue about it, even in neighboring countries.
Honestly this should be a non-issue and should have just come stock. Spending a fortune on a mid-size Raptor only to...
I tried ordering the Ranger Raptor J brace several times from our local dealer and other Ford dealers without luck.
It always ends by "sorry we don't have that part in stock and we cannot order it for you at the moment"...
Air, Water, Fuel
Some updates on the build: Finally got the ARB twin air pump setup and 4-liter air tank. Also added in the 50 liter ironman water tank and a 20 liter gas can for longer trips
Water will always be filled with drinking water purity so can be used for anything (washing, cooking...
Keeping things light and modular. Built for both overlanding and off-roading, I can add/ remove anything within 10 minutes as needed.
Billibars crossbars setup with awning bracket
ikamper mini 3.0 tent
180 eezi awn dragonfly mini Awning
shovel & mount
ironman 50l water tank
20l fuel jerry can...
On-road use: zero issues
off-road use: when used hard I faced 2 issues: 1st was the billie bar crossbar bolts shaking loose (locktite doesn't work - solved by longer bolts). 2nd is the ikamper legs coming a bit loose after a few trips, which need some re-tightening. No issues otherwise so far...
Update -
Sliding tray is installed. I really like it and finally have ease of bed access. It is much heavier than I expected, but my back thanks me for having it.
Bed setup is now complete.

Next will be mounting the ARB Twin Air compressor and air tank hidden under the bed.
