  1. How are you guys liking your KO3's? Got a set coming....

Me too, sort of. I’ll also add that I occasionally tow or haul heavy loads (for the Ranger). If you watch that video pay attention to later when they talk about road manners and see their subjective reactions; that’s how I feel about the nokians too, but bottom line they’re predictable and...
  2. How are you guys liking your KO3's? Got a set coming....

The ko3’s are indeed better than the ko2’s, but for my money, I’m happy with the Nokians (which were rated in another of his tests as best in snow… for an AT tire).
  3. Trail control…am I doing it wrong??

Yes they do, and more. As indicated in the comment immediately following yours you can use manual mode or lockout gears you don’t want to use, like 3-10 and let the transmission keep you where you can apply power or torque instantly rather than shifting gears and losing momentum or whatever.
  4. Trail control…am I doing it wrong??

I don’t interpret what the manual says as indicating that it’s dragging the brakes, but that brakes may be automatically applied as necessary and in turn, the abs may be activated. it sounds like if the OP was in 4h on that long, steep downhill then engine braking wasn’t enough to keep the...
  5. ProCal not supported??

This might be a special case, of sorts, and not applicable to our 6th gen’s. A 2019 with known-bad cdf drums probably didn’t get much scrutiny or troubleshooting done because it was such a common failure where our 10r60’s, while not perfect, don’t have such a common flaw.
  6. First towing, desert and camping trip

And thus it came to be known from this day forward, by all here in the ranger6g forum, as cb4017’s mom’s mountain.
  7. Break in oil change before 9 hour trip? Currently at 1500 miles

I did my first change pretty early and had a sample analyzed at Blackstone labs. I shared the results in this thread if you want to see the report: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/first-oil-change-and-blackstone-analysis.19671/
  8. Best license plate designs?

I was half expecting to see something like the “welcome to schitt’s creek” sign (“it’s ok; that’s his sister!”)
  9. Best license plate designs?

Wow, impressive! And I thought my 85 year old NJ plates were old (but I’m still proud to have the matching pair together).
  10. 1st trailer hookup, how’s it look?

That trailer looks small enough to be near the gray area of whether a wdh really helps or not. Either way, Weigh Safe makes great hitches (both wdh and non-wdh) with scales to tell you how much the tongue weighs. They’re both height adjustable which looks like it’ll help here, and the wdh has a...
  11. First Mods?

I focused on protection when I first got my lariat. I used wax stripper, iron remover, then a light polish, then multiple coats of CQuartz ceramic coating. Then floor mats, bed mat, and lanolin undercoating on everything that could rust (excluding exhaust and brakes). I later added soundproofing...
  12. What did you do WITH your 6G Ranger today?

Interesting; were you having issues with either dirt or water getting into the filler neck?
  13. Where's the 2026 Trailer Brake Control Plug?

I don’t think I agree with these assessments. First, I don’t think it requires being “intimately familiar” with options so much as having done due diligence on the vehicle options when you’re spending $40k-$55k on a vehicle. If you’re not ordering from the factory the buyer should still be...
  14. Go to oil for 2.7

If your other engines had twin-turbos and belt-in-oil, then ok, that's a fair comparison (still not really, but I'm being polite). Otherwise I suggest you read up on the ford-defined spec oils and why it's actually important. Or you could just wait until that belt prematurely dies and turn to...
  15. Say It Ain't So Ford!!!

As a proverbial gray-beard of IT, a few decades as a consultant and more as a director/vp of operations, this doesn't surprise me or even feel new. 25 years ago the rage was to outsource labor to overseas markets, especially in IT where folks would report to work and sit in a cubicle managing...
  16. Pro trailer back up set up

Yes, this. If you don't have the advanced tow package you wouldn't have gotten any stickers, and buying ones on amazon won't help at all. If you do have the advanced tow package, there's nothing special about the stickers you get with the truck; the ones on amazon work just fine so you can put...
  17. Problems with trailer mileage tracking

This is an interesting thread to me because I read the relevant towing section of the manual a few times, and mention of trailer mileage tracking is light and brief, and I thought that it tracked vehicle fuel mileage while in tow mode (or even more specifically it might track fuel mileage with a...
  18. 2025 Rangers 10R60 Transmission ~ Klunk & Jump

I know people love to hate on the auto start stop, and to each their own, but what transmission issues does it cause?
  19. Like or Dislike Adaptive Cruise Control?

I think it’s fantastic. Sure, there are edge cases like the OP mentioned where it might not do what you want, but if you think about it, it’s doing the right thing. In the two cases OP outlined: one where someone gets in front at an unsafe distance, and the second where OP drove to an unsafe...
  20. The Best All Terrain Tires tested on the Ranger Raptor!

Finally, a real test with the Outpost nAT! I’ve been running them since I got my Ranger last spring and my overall subjective opinion and reaction has been very much like those of the tester’s, but it’s nice to see objective data to back them up. I guess when they wear out (years from now) I’ll...
