After asking some Friends over at Dearborn Truck plant as noted.
Sync 5 for some time or incorrectly was just considered the next generation.
When in fact it is a complete change to Ford Digital Experience.
Some models have already had it for some time along with some Lincolns.
One of the things...
I did post in several places the the information around is very convoluted with many contracting information online!
So no such thing? lots of conflicting information, for sure!
Did think about deleting the stuff that is almost certainly wrong, but to keep the later post even more confusion...
This seems to be more accurate as of function, note it does note the horizonal/vertical as many have said but with other changes as well.

Yes, would say that is quit fair to say.
Even asking AI the answer changes depending on how you ask the question. That is pulling from many sources and it can't even figure it out in a clear manor.
What is clear is the Rangers have the latest version that supports many things that are not on...
Yes, I would agree.
Although I copied that from a pretty good source, it is questionable on some aspects.
Now that I look more, the info is all over the place!
Even the conflicting info says 4 does not support advanced features such as 360 cameras and other ADS functions the ranger does have...
Update: I will leave this here as not to confuse the later post.
After more digging it seems to be wrong on many parts of it!
Strange so much detail would be written and completely wrong???
From everything I can find on Ford it seems the Rangers do have the 4a and it is the more advanced...
This is well covered in other post. And yes you can use the taillights without a single wire damaged: plug and play!
Here are the taillights, the next is the brake tight with the top C active.
You can find lots more on this subject at this thread!

HI, No bills killed the sensors and gave dash light warnings when connected.
Odd, but in your case I would install the diodes first.
Once that is done the power going back to the ranger is a one-way street.
It sounds as if the back feed or current issues is playing havoc on your Ram.
First...
Great the Curt harness I talked about earlier.
Seems yours worked as did mine. Several other people have had issues. Looking back at this thread you probably see we found factory issues with some of the Curt harnesses made wrong.
People have been really frustrated with it not knowing why.
Others...
Exactly!
I did the same as removing most of the stuff they wanted you to remove was for drill the top holes out.
I landed up finding some metric stainless used for that with hacking the frame drilling it out for more rust!
Also changed the bolt to metric for the side arm brackets, not drilling...
Yes, they stick out much too far!
I took and bent them way down, that helped a lot from getting kneecapped!
What did you do about the crap spacers and the top bolts?
Working with BIlls_Raptor we have discovered issues with the Curt Harnesses.
Mine worked but his did not! Reviewing everything we found although they are the exact model both from Amazon they are not the same!
Suspect this is the issues a few others have reported as well.
The taillight is wrong...
If you did not figure this out by now you can buy an inexpensive device and plug something PD in and see what it does ($8~15) . I might do it and post here so others know!
This picture is not from truck, just showing the device.
If you did not see this already as it is posted in another thread. I went out and confirmed what actual lights work. The side and bottom C come on with the tail lights. The top is brake and turn signal. It is hard to see in the daytime but easy to see at night! The last picture is with brake...
I went out and took some pictures at night! The bottom and side markers are taillights, the top C is the brake and turn signal as seen in the last picture.
What so many fail to understand is when using a harness like the Curt. It uses male and female plugs to add a section cable that can easiely be modified if needed to avoid any damage to the truck wiring. Also if you are want to remove it, all will be removed with no damage to the stock wiring...
